electrobun CLAUDE.md

electrobun CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for coding agents from blackboardsh/electrobun. It costs 371 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A set of development instructions for Electrobun, a tool for building desktop applications with web technologies and native code. It explains how to install dependencies, build and run the project, and understand its folders.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when developing Electrobun, running its Kitchen test application, building templates, or working on its package, devkit, and bootstrap code.
Why use it?
It prevents agents from using the wrong command or running the tool from the wrong directory, which can break the build process.

About the project

Electrobun is a toolkit for building, updating, and shipping small cross-platform desktop applications written in TypeScript. Developers use its Hutch command-line tool, JavaScript runtime, and native platform layer to create and build these apps.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00371 $0.00371
Opus 5 $0.00186 $0.00186
Sonnet 5 $0.00074 $0.00074
Haiku 4.5 $0.00037 $0.00037

Measured 5d ago against content hash 188a03cbb1bc, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

electrobun CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Claude Development Guidelines for Electrobun

Building and Running Electrobun

IMPORTANT: Build Commands

NEVER run Electrobun from node_modules. Electrobun 2 uses Hutch as its build CLI, with npm only for this repository's development dependencies:

  1. From the package folder (/home/yoav/code/electrobun/package/):

    • npm ci - Installs the repository's pinned development dependencies
    • hutch dev - Builds and runs the Kitchen app in dev mode
    • hutch dev:template <template-name> - Builds and runs one repository template against the local devkit
    • hutch dev:canary - Builds the Kitchen app in canary mode
  2. Build Process Flow:

    • Always run build commands from the package folder
    • The build process will automatically:
      • Build the native wrappers
      • Compile the TypeScript code
      • Build the versioned core and devkit
      • Switch to the kitchen folder and build/run the app

Project Structure

  • /package - Main Electrobun package source
  • /kitchen - Test application (Kitchen Sink)
  • /npm/electrobun - Single dependency-free npm bootstrap; it reads the same-version GitHub Release's hutch-artifacts.json, downloads and verifies the paired host archive, then safely caches and invokes the extracted Hutch launcher (with no platform npm packages or postinstall script)
  • /package/src/sdks - Versioned language SDK sources published in the devkit
  • /package/src/extractor - Self-extractor implementation (Zig)
  • /package/src/native - Native wrappers for each platform
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
