Written for Codex and OpenCode: the file is AGENTS.md.

This is bmayorga/dot-context's own configuration. It tells Codex and OpenCode how to work on dot-context itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything dot-context configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00623 $0.00623
Opus 5.5 $0.00249 $0.00249
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00125 $0.00125
Haiku 4.5 $0.00062 $0.00062

Security

Grade A, and why

dot-context AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 28d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Agent Instructions

How to use this file: Read this before maintaining dot-context. It governs this distribution repository, not projects installing a starter. Update these rules when repository conventions change; the public standard belongs in README.md.

Before Work

  1. Read README.md for product structure, installation, current release status, and relevant standard rules.
  2. Read CONTRIBUTING.md for maintenance and validation; consult CHANGELOG.md when history matters.
  3. Inspect actual package and example files before claiming alignment. This repository has no internal .context.
  4. Respect approved scope, ownership, and developer-selected settings; report conflicts rather than inventing policy.

Maintenance Rules

  • Write documentation in English, with generic examples free of source-project details or private data.
  • Link author attribution to https://www.linkedin.com/in/bmayorga/ and omit organization branding.
  • Use uppercase filenames with lowercase .md inside installed context directories.
  • Put visible purpose, reading, and maintenance instructions immediately after each document's title.
  • Keep README standard rules, both starters, and the worked example consistent.
  • Light includes only README and STATUS; Complete adds optional references. Plans are created for actual work.
  • Keep both starters' required documents and defaults synchronized; their indexes reflect their different contents.
  • Preserve existing checkbox choices, branch names, and project rules when integrating starter content.
  • Preserve history. Prepend durable product milestones to CHANGELOG.md; omit routine session bookkeeping.
  • Validate local links, index entries, obsolete references, and package contents after coherent changes.
  • Follow developer delivery instructions. These rules do not authorize commits, pushes, tags, or releases.

Repository Design Preferences

These selections preserve the repository's former internal context preferences. Apply enabled recommendations where relevant, without expanding scope or forcing extra layers.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
