AGENTS.md

1001-albums-generator-mcp AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from bnm12/1001-albums-generator-mcp. It costs 4,594 tokens per session, scanned A, original, ISC.

A repository instruction file for an MCP server that connects to the 1001 Albums Generator API.

In plain words
What is it for?
Guiding changes to the Node.js server, including API calls, cached responses, and connection handling.
Why use it?
It tells coding agents about limits and project rules, reducing the risk of breaking request timing, caching, imports, or server setup.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.04594 $0.04594
Opus 5 $0.02297 $0.02297
Sonnet 5 $0.00919 $0.00919
Haiku 4.5 $0.00459 $0.00459

Measured 10d ago against content hash b2b984bf19fa, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-11, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

1001-albums-generator-mcp AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Instructions for AI Agents

This repository contains an MCP server for the 1001 Albums Generator API.

Core Directives

  1. Respect Rate Limits: The API is strictly limited to 3 requests per minute.
    • The AlbumsGeneratorClient in src/api.ts implements a throttle() method that enforces a 20-second delay between requests. Do not remove or reduce this delay.
    • Responses are cached for 4 hours via a swappable CacheStore (see Cache Layer below).
    • The AlbumsGeneratorClient instance is shared across all sessions (module-level singleton). This is intentional — the shared cache and throttle queue benefit all concurrent sessions.
  2. ESM Implementation: This is a Node.js ESM project.
    • Always use .js extensions in relative imports (e.g., import { ... } from "./api.js").
    • The project is configured with "type": "module" in package.json.
  3. High-level MCP SDK: This server uses the McpServer high-level API from @modelcontextprotocol/sdk.
  4. Per-session server instances: In HTTP mode, a new McpServer instance must be created for each incoming connection. Use the createMcpServer() factory function. Never share a single McpServer instance across sessions.
  5. Always read SDK docs before touching transport code: Before modifying anything related to StreamableHTTPServerTransport, StdioServerTransport, or any other transport class, fetch and read the current SDK README at https://raw.githubusercontent.com/modelcontextprotocol/typescript-sdk/refs/heads/main/README.md. The SDK is actively developed and transport APIs change between versions. Do not rely on training data for transport-specific details.
  6. No type shortcuts: This project uses strict: true TypeScript. Never use // @ts-ignore, // @ts-expect-error, or as any casts to paper over type errors. Fix the underlying type issue instead.
  7. Zod v4: This project uses Zod v4 ("zod": "^4.3.6"). The MCP SDK documentation and most online examples use Zod v3 syntax — do not copy them directly. Key differences in v4: z.object().extend() is removed (use z.object({ ...base.shape, ... })), and some error APIs have changed. When in doubt, check the Zod v4 changelog.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
