vuestrata: Instructions file for GitHub Copilot

.github/copilot-instructions.md

vuestrata copilot-instructions.md is an instructions file for GitHub Copilot from boussadjra/vuestrata. It costs 447 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Repository instructions for GitHub Copilot, an AI coding assistant, in a Vuestrata project. They direct Copilot to read the project's main guidance, follow its constitution and skills, and run specified checks.

In plain words
What is it for?
Guiding Copilot during implementation, choosing the right project documentation, and running checks and tests after edits or at the end of a session.
Why use it?
They reduce conflicting instructions and define which project rules, hooks, and quality checks Copilot should follow before work is considered finished.

Instructions file for GitHub Copilot

Written for GitHub Copilot: a Copilot instructions file. Also seen: mentions AGENTS.md.

This is boussadjra/vuestrata's own configuration. It tells GitHub Copilot how to work on vuestrata itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything vuestrata configures →

Needs its repository: it runs a file that does not travel with it, so clone the repository first. The line is node scripts/lint/run-custom-rules.mjs # the six project rules.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00447 $0.00447
Opus 5 $0.00224 $0.00224
Sonnet 5 $0.00089 $0.00089
Haiku 4.5 $0.00045 $0.00045

Measured 8d ago against content hash dbc012267191, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

vuestrata copilot-instructions.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Copilot Instructions

Read AGENTS.md first. It is the canonical brief for this repo: the repo map, the architecture rules, the state-ownership policy, what each lint gate catches, the quality gates, and the vp toolchain rules.

This file used to repeat all of that. It no longer does — two copies of a rule drift, and the copy a given agent happens to read decides which version of the codebase it writes.

Copilot-specific notes

  • Highest authority is .specify/memory/constitution.md. Read it before major implementation and flag conflicts rather than silently violating them.
  • Skills live in .github/skills/: the domain set (vuestrata-spec-workflow, vuestrata-quality-gates, vuestrata-module-organization, vuestrata-docs-parity, vuestrata-auth-contract-checks), the speckit-* workflow set, and the i-* design set.
  • Custom agents for the spec workflow are in .github/agents/; their bodies live in .specify/templates/commands/.
  • Hooks in .github/hooks/hooks.json run vp check after each file edit and vp check + vpr test --run at session end. That is a Copilot-schema file; it does not apply to other harnesses.
  • Planning: prefer lightweight implementation notes for non-trivial changes over mandatory spec-folder scaffolding. Templates remain in .specify/templates/ if structured documentation is warranted.

Before you finish

vp check # format, lint, types
node scripts/lint/run-custom-rules.mjs # the six project rules
vpr test --run # includes test/unit/architecture/

Add vpr build when routing, config, providers or runtime wiring changed, and vpr test:e2e when a user-visible flow or route changed.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
