focus-group AGENTS.md

focus-group AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from bradautomates/focus-group. It costs 930 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Project instructions for focus-group, a skill that builds a standing panel of simulated customers from real sales-call transcripts. It explains the package structure, setup scripts, supported agent hosts, and tests.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to run setup checks, scaffold the skill, build its distribution file, work with customer panels, and run the test suite.
Why use it?
It shows coding agents how the product works and how to set it up without guessing which files or commands matter.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00930 $0.00930
Opus 5 $0.00465 $0.00465
Sonnet 5 $0.00186 $0.00186
Haiku 4.5 $0.00093 $0.00093

Measured 4d ago against content hash c539b18e3b98, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

focus-group AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

focus-group skill

Agent Skills package that clones a user's customers from real sales-call transcripts and runs them as a standing focus group. Installable across Claude Code (most common host), Codex, Cursor, and other Agent Skills hosts. Pure-stdlib Python for preflight/scaffolding; the clustering, dossiers, and panel runs are agent work driven by SKILL.md.

Structure

  • skills/focus-group/SKILL.md — canonical skill contract the model reads when /focus-group fires. Source of truth for behavior across every host: setup wizard, panel protocol, persistence rules.
  • skills/focus-group/scripts/setup.py — preflight (--check / --json), builder (bare), --mark-complete.
  • skills/focus-group/scripts/build-skill.sh — builds dist/focus-group.skill for claude.ai upload (dev-only).
  • hooks/ — Claude Code SessionStart setup-status hook (Claude Code only).
  • .claude-plugin/plugin.json + marketplace.json (Claude Code plugin + marketplace).
  • CLAUDE.md@AGENTS.md — generic-agent entry point.
  • tests/ — pytest suite (temp-HOME fixtures; no network).

Orientation

  • The product is the slash-command-invoked skill (/focus-group <stimulus>), not a CLI. scripts/setup.py only does preflight and scaffolding — all persona/panel intelligence lives in SKILL.md and must work across every harness, not just Claude Code.
  • The skill is one self-contained folder: skills/focus-group/. SKILL.md and scripts/ are siblings inside it — do NOT move either to the repo root, or non-Claude installers will copy SKILL.md without the scripts.
  • Path resolution is harness-agnostic. SKILL.md resolves SKILL_DIR as the directory of the SKILL.md the model just Read. Do NOT reintroduce ${CLAUDE_SKILL_DIR} — it is unset on other hosts.
  • Runtime state lives outside the skill: the group (panel dossiers, sessions) in ~/Documents/FocusGroup/ (or SAVE_DIR), config in ~/.config/focus-group/.env. Never clobber either — append-only.
  • Disagreement is the product. Nothing in the panel protocol may rank responses, pick a winner, or synthesize consensus. Keep the moderator opinion-free.
  • No commands/ wrapper. /focus-group is derived from SKILL.md frontmatter (name + user-invocable: true).

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
