Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00773 | $0.00773 |
| Opus 5.5 | $0.00309 | $0.00309 |
| Sonnet 5.5 | $0.00155 | $0.00155 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00077 | $0.00077 |
Grade A, and why
legal-open-mcp-server AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2mo ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 48 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
legal-mcp
MCP server and legal research/drafting assistant for Indian law. Python 3.12+, FastMCP 2, FastAPI, Pydantic, DuckDB, asyncpg. Built on the Red Hat template-mcp-server pattern. Architecture and docs live in docs/.
Policy
- Never commit secrets, API keys, or
.env— use environment variables via.env.example. - Security vulnerabilities go through GitHub Security Advisories, never public issues.

Running and verifying
- Use
uv run pytest(ormake test) — do not run barepytest, which resolves outside the project venv. - CI also runs
pre-commit run --all-files(ruff, mypy, pydocstyle, bandit);make testalone does not cover this — runmake pre-commitlocally before pushing. - Coverage must stay ≥ 80% (
--cov-fail-under=80). - Local server:
make local(port 5001). Container:make container(podman compose). - Corpus must be built before case-law tools work:
make corpus.
Conventions that differ from defaults
- Every new tool function must be added to its module's
TOOLSlist and given an entry inlegal_mcp_server/src/tool_annotations.py— a missing annotation logs a warning at startup. - Tool docstrings use the structured
TOOL_NAME=…/DISPLAY_NAME=…/USECASE=…format described inlegal_mcp_server/src/tools/README.md, not plain Google-style. - All tool functions return
Dict[str, Any]with astatusfield ("success"or"error"). - Logging uses
legal_mcp_server.utils.pylogger.get_python_logger(), not stdlibloggingdirectly. - Google-convention docstrings enforced by pydocstyle; double-quote strings enforced by Ruff.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
