allocat CLAUDE.md

Project instructions for AlloCat, a personal-finance progressive web app and Android app built with Next.js, React, Supabase, and related tools. A progressive web app is a website that can behave like an installed app.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when developing transaction tracking, running the app, building or linting it, executing tests, checking types, or working with its database and browser storage.
Why use it?
They document the technology choices, commands, currency rules, and testing locations needed to work consistently in the project.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.02522 $0.02522
Opus 5 $0.01261 $0.01261
Sonnet 5 $0.00504 $0.00504
Haiku 4.5 $0.00252 $0.00252

Measured 2d ago against content hash 0e578759e4f6, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

allocat CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

CLAUDE.md

This file provides guidance to Claude Code (claude.ai/code) when working with code in this repository.

Project

AlloCat — minimalist personal-finance PWA, also shipped as a native Android app (Capacitor) for SMS-based transaction tracking. Next.js 16 (App Router) + React 19 + Supabase + Dexie (IndexedDB) + TanStack Query 5 + Tailwind v4. Currency is multi-currency via lib/number-format.ts + lib/currency/catalog (INR is the default for legacy callers); do not assume hardcoded en-IN.

package.json declares name: "AlloCat-web" despite the directory name.

Commands

npm run dev # next dev
npm run build # next build && serwist build (service worker bundling)
npm run start # next start
npm run lint # eslint (flat config in eslint.config.mjs)
npm run test # vitest run (one-shot)
npm run test:watch # vitest (watch)

npx vitest run lib/sms/match.test.ts # single file
npx vitest run -t "matches exact rule" # single test by name

Test files live next to source (*.test.ts, e.g. lib/ai/parseSmsTransaction.test.ts, lib/sms/match.test.ts). No typecheck script — run npx tsc --noEmit if needed.

Use pnpm (per memory: npm install fails with ERESOLVE). Both package-lock.json and pnpm-lock.yaml are checked in.

Android (Capacitor)

npx cap sync android # copy web config + plugins into android/
CAP_SERVER_URL=http://192.168.1.20:3000 npx cap sync # point the shell at a LAN dev server

Requires Android Studio JBR (JDK 21). Open android/ in Android Studio to build/run the APK.

Required env (.env.local)

NEXT_PUBLIC_SUPABASE_URL=
NEXT_PUBLIC_SUPABASE_PUBLISHABLE_DEFAULT_KEY=
OPENROUTER_API_KEY=     # used by app/api/ai/chat

Architecture

Offline-first sync (the central pattern — read this before touching data flow)

Every page reads from IndexedDB first; the network is a fallback and a background reconciler. Three layers cooperate:

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
