CLAUDE.md

bob-plugin-ollama-translator CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from CaicoLeung/bob-plugin-ollama-translator. It costs 1,120 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Project-specific guidance for working on Bob, a plugin that translates text using services such as Ollama and OpenAI. It documents the code layout, build commands, issue tracking, and project conventions.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when changing the Bob translator plugin, investigating its issues, or running its build and lint checks. It also points to documentation about the project's domain and issue labels.
Why use it?
It gives a coding agent the repository knowledge needed to make changes consistently. This reduces guesswork about how to build, lint, and organize work in the project.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01120 $0.01120
Opus 5 $0.00560 $0.00560
Sonnet 5 $0.00224 $0.00224
Haiku 4.5 $0.00112 $0.00112

Security

Grade A, and why

bob-plugin-ollama-translator CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Project Overview

Bob translator plugin supporting multiple AI services (Ollama, OpenAI, Grok, Claude, DeepSeek, Gemini). Provides translation and interpretation modes with streaming responses.

Build Commands

# Build (requires pnpm)
pnpm build

# Alternative build commands
npx tsx scripts/build.ts # Using tsx
bun scripts/build.ts # Using bun

The build process:

  1. Cleans dist/ directory
  2. Bundles TypeScript to CommonJS via Rollup
  3. Copies public/icon.png and public/info.json to dist/
  4. Creates dist/bob-plugin-ollama-explainer.bobplugin zip

Linting

eslint . # Run ESLint
prettier --write . # Format code (if needed)

Architecture

Entry Point

src/main.ts exports translate function and supportLanguages to the Bob plugin system. The $option global (defined in types.d.ts) is injected by Bob at runtime.

Translation Flow

translate.ts (main orchestration)
  │
├─→ precheck.ts # Validates config (model, baseUrl, language)
  ├─→ cache.ts # Checks in-memory cache (100-entry LRU)
├─→ params.ts # Builds request params (handles Qwen MT special case)
├─→ service.ts # Gets API key and URL for selected service
  ├─→ prompt.ts # Generates system/user prompts based on mode
  │
  └─→ $http.streamRequest (Bob's HTTP API)
       │
       └─→ parser.ts # Parses SSE stream via eventsource-parser

Key Modules

File Purpose
translate.ts Main translation logic: streaming, completion handling, error reporting
service.ts Provider registry; resolves a provider's base URL, API-key option, and model
params.ts Builds request payload; special-cases Qwen MT (no system prompt)
prompt.ts Generates prompts for translate vs interpret modes; detects English words for detailed explanations
parser.ts Wraps eventsource-parser for SSE chunk parsing
cache.ts In-memory Map-based LRU cache (max 100 entries)
precheck.ts Validates configuration before API calls
constants.ts HTTP error codes, supported languages
types.d.ts Declares $option global injected by Bob runtime

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
