mcp-gitee: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

mcp-gitee CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from CainDez/mcp-gitee. It costs 524 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Project instructions for an MCP server that exposes the Gitee API, a programming interface for the Gitee code-hosting service, as tools for an AI agent. They document the commands, required access token, architecture, and code structure.

In plain words
What is it for?
They help agents compile or develop the server, configure Gitee access, and find the client and tool definitions.
Why use it?
They give agents the repository details needed to build and run the server and understand how its Gitee tools work.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00524 $0.00524
Opus 5 $0.00262 $0.00262
Sonnet 5 $0.00105 $0.00105
Haiku 4.5 $0.00052 $0.00052

Security

Grade A, and why

mcp-gitee CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Commands

npm run build # Compile TypeScript → dist/
npm run dev # Watch mode (tsc --watch)
npm start # Run compiled server (node dist/index.js)

No test framework is configured. Type-check only via npm run build.

Environment

The server requires GITEE_ACCESS_TOKEN at runtime. Optional: GITEE_API_URL (defaults to https://gitee.com/api/v5).

Architecture

This is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that exposes Gitee API v5 as MCP tools, communicating over stdio.

Core flow

index.ts → instantiates GiteeClient and McpServer, collects all ToolDef[] arrays from src/tools/, calls registerTools(), then connects via StdioServerTransport.

Key abstractions

  • ToolDef (src/types.ts): a plain-data descriptor — name, description, method, path, and required/optional param maps. No logic, just metadata.
  • GiteeClient (src/client.ts): thin axios wrapper. request(method, pathTemplate, args) resolves {param} placeholders from args into the URL, puts remaining args into query params (GET/DELETE) or request body (POST/PUT/PATCH).
  • registerTools (src/register.ts): iterates ToolDef[], converts each ParamDef to a Zod schema, and registers an MCP tool handler that calls client.request().

Adding a new tool

  1. Add a ToolDef entry to the appropriate file in src/tools/.
  2. If it's a new domain, create src/tools/<domain>.ts, export a ToolDef[], import and spread it in src/index.ts.
  3. required params become mandatory Zod fields; optional params become .optional(). Path params (e.g. {owner}) are extracted from path automatically.

Tool file conventions

Each src/tools/*.ts exports one named array (e.g. repoTools, issueTools). Common param shapes (owner, repo, page, per_page) are defined as local constants at the top of each file and reused across tool entries.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
