coral: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

coral CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from cdknorow/coral. It costs 1,898 tokens per session, scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A project instruction file for Coral Go, a Go implementation whose older Python version is kept only as a reference. Go and Python are programming languages; the document identifies which code is authoritative.

In plain words
What is it for?
Developing and testing the Go implementation, running its unit tests, and comparing it with the older Python version when migration behavior needs investigation.
Why use it?
It prevents developers from treating the legacy Python code as the source of truth and limits changes to the intended directories. It also records the commands used for unit tests and historical parity checks.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01898 $0.01898
Opus 5 $0.00949 $0.00949
Sonnet 5 $0.00380 $0.00380
Haiku 4.5 $0.00190 $0.00190

Measured 8d ago against content hash eb4a489de275, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-08, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

coral CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

CLAUDE.md - Coral Go

Mission

The Go codebase (coral-go/) is the primary implementation of Coral. The coral-python/ is a legacy reference that is no longer authoritative.

RULES:

  1. The Go codebase is the source of truth. Improve it freely without deferring to Python patterns.
  2. Only modify code under coral-go/ and tests/.

Testing

Go Unit Tests

cd coral-go && go test ./...

Legacy Parity Tools (historical reference)

These tools were used during the Python-to-Go migration and may still be useful for comparison:

# Parity harness (requires both Python and Go servers)
python tests/parity_harness.py

# DB compare tool
cd coral-go && go build -o db-compare ./cmd/db-compare/
./db-compare <python-db> <go-db> [board-py-db] [board-go-db]

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
