cdviz: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

cdviz AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from cdviz-dev/cdviz. It costs 1,905 tokens per session, scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

Repository instructions for cdviz, a software delivery visibility project that tracks events as work moves through development. The repository is a monorepo, meaning several related components are kept in one repository.

In plain words
What is it for?
Navigating the cdviz components, working from the repository root, and following the project's task and development process.
Why use it?
They give a coding agent the project's structure, context, and expected way to run tasks. This reduces confusion about which component or command to use.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01905 $0.01905
Opus 5.5 $0.00762 $0.00762
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00381 $0.00381
Haiku 4.5 $0.00191 $0.00191

Security

Grade A, and why

cdviz AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 28d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

AGENTS.md - CDviz Monorepo

AI agent instructions for CDviz, an SDLC observability platform built around CDEvents.

Project Context

What: Software delivery pipeline visibility and event tracking
Who: DevOps engineers, tech leads, platform engineers
Architecture: See README.md for comprehensive overview
Development: See CONTRIBUTING.md for detailed setup and workflows

Monorepo Structure

This is a mise monorepo with monorepo_root = true configuration. Components are organized as:

  • cdviz-db/: PostgreSQL + TimescaleDB schema with golang-migrate migrations
  • cdviz-grafana/: TypeScript-based Grafana dashboard generator (Bun + Grafana Foundation SDK)
  • charts/: Helm charts for Kubernetes deployment (cdviz-collector, cdviz-db, cdviz-grafana)
  • demos/: Integration testing environments (Docker Compose & Kubernetes)
  • cdevents-spec/: Git submodule with CDEvents specification and conformance tests

Note: cdviz-collector (event collection service) and cdviz-site (documentation site, cdviz.dev) are separate repositories.

Task Execution Pattern

Run tasks from monorepo root using mise's path syntax:

mise tasks --all # List all available tasks across components
mise run //cdviz-grafana:build # Run task in specific component
mise run //cdviz-db:migrate:create # Run nested task
mise run '//...:ci' # Run :ci task in all components

AI-Specific Guidance

Component-Specific Instructions

Each component has detailed AGENTS.md with specialized guidance:

When to use component-specific files: If working primarily in one component (e.g., writing dashboards, updating docs, modifying schema), read that component's AGENTS.md for detailed patterns and workflows.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
