Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00615 | $0.00615 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00308 | $0.00308 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00123 | $0.00123 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00061 | $0.00061 |
Grade A, and why
centrapay-mcp CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 58 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
centrapay-mcp — Claude Code Instructions
What this project is
An MCP server for the Centrapay payments API (NZ). Enables Claude Code to create and test NZ payment flows — payment requests, settlement, refunds, and merchant lookup. Speaks Centrapay's real model: Account → Merchant Config (configId) → Payment Request, with money as { amount: string (minor units), currency }.
Credentials
CENTRAPAY_API_KEY=your_key
Public test key documented at docs.centrapay.com/api/auth; for your own merchant config contact [email protected]. There is no free fallback (unlike xe-mcp) — every call hits the live API. Auth header is x-api-key.
Build and test
npm install
npm run build # TypeScript → dist/
npm test # Jest — tests the real source (no network)
Architecture
src/
├── index.ts # MCP server (stdio transport) — 9 tools
├── centrapay-client.ts # REST client — x-api-key auth, amount→minor-unit-string
└── tools/
└── payments.ts # tool defs + handlers, defensive response formatting
Tools: create_payment_request, get_payment_status, void_payment_request,
list_payment_requests, pay_payment_request, create_refund,
list_merchants, get_merchant, create_merchant.
Adding a tool
- Add a client method in
centrapay-client.ts(match the real endpoint/method/body) - Add tool definition + handler in
src/tools/payments.ts - Import and register in
src/index.ts - Add a test against the real exported function
Verification approach
The request contract (endpoints, methods, bodies, auth) is verified against the live
sandbox. Response field names are only confirmed once a live create runs under a real
configId, so formatting is defensive (known fields + fallbacks + raw passthrough).
Don't assert response shapes that haven't been observed live.
Key Centrapay concepts
- Merchant Config (
configId): payment requests are created under this, not a bare merchant id - value:
{ amount, currency }where amount is minor units as a string — $25.00 NZD ="2500" - Pay: sandbox settlement needs
assetType(e.g.centrapay.nzd.test) + an asset reference +idempotencyKey - Void: cancel is
POST /{id}/void(not DELETE); Refund isPOST /{id}/refundwithvalue+externalRef - List: no flat list-all — payment requests are looked up by
externalRef+merchantAccountId
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

centrapay-mcp CLAUDE.md is an instructions file published in the GitHub repository CedricConday/centrapay-mcp (1 stars, last pushed 2mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 615 tokens to every session, about $0.0031 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
