Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00537 | $0.00537 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00269 | $0.00269 |

Grade A, and why
ollama-web-tools-mcp CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 34 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

Overview
This is an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that exposes Ollama's Web Search and Web Fetch REST APIs as MCP tools (web_search and web_fetch). It is a Python package (ollama_web_tools_mcp) with a single module, installable via pip.
Running and Developing
- Install locally (editable):
pip install -e . - Run the server:
python -m ollama_web_tools_mcporollama-web-tools-mcp - Configure Claude Code:
python configure.py(orollama-web-tools-configureafter pip install) - Smoke test without a real key:
OLLAMA_API_KEY=dummy python -m ollama_web_tools_mcp
Architecture
ollama_web_tools_mcp/server.py— Core application usingmcp.server.fastmcp.FastMCPto register two tools:web_search(query: str, max_results: int = 5)— POSTs to/api/web_searchweb_fetch(url: str)— POSTs to/api/web_fetch
ollama_web_tools_mcp/configure.py— Interactive setup script that writes~/.claude/claude_code_config.json.- Root
server.pyandconfigure.py— Thin wrappers that import from the package for backward compatibility when running from a git clone. pyproject.toml— Package metadata and entry points (ollama-web-tools-mcp,ollama-web-tools-configure).- Environment variable
OLLAMA_API_KEYis passed via the MCP configenvblock. httpx.Client— used inside a context manager for each tool invocation, with a 30-second timeout.- Error handling — tools catch
httpx.HTTPStatusErrorandhttpx.RequestErrorand return human-readable error strings rather than raising, so the MCP client receives graceful failures.
Important Notes
- There are no tests, no linting config, and no CI in this repository.
- The server is a stdio MCP server meant to be launched by Claude Code's MCP harness, not run as a persistent daemon.
max_resultsis silently capped at10inweb_search.web_fetchlimits the "Links found" list to the first 10 items.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

ollama-web-tools-mcp CLAUDE.md is an instructions file published in the GitHub repository chakkritte/ollama-web-tools-mcp (2 stars, last pushed 4mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 537 tokens to every session, about $0.0027 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
