timesfm-mcp: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

timesfm-mcp AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from chokukil/timesfm-mcp. It costs 150 tokens per session, scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A set of instructions for agents working on a TimesFM MCP repository, where TimesFM is a forecasting model for time-based data. It tells the agent how to inspect the project and use its forecasting server safely.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when working with that repository to read its guidance, check server health, estimate memory, warm up the model, make forecasts, or detect anomalies.
Why use it?
It gives the agent the required startup order and checks before loading a potentially memory-heavy model.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00150 $0.00150
Opus 5.5 $0.00060 $0.00060
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00030 $0.00030
Haiku 4.5 $0.00015 $0.00015

Security

Grade A, and why

timesfm-mcp AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

TimesFM MCP Agent Entry Point

Read README.md before using or modifying this repository.

Operational order for agents:

  1. Start the MCP server with the GPU environment documented in README.md.
  2. Call guidance or read timesfm://forecasting/guide.
  3. Call health before loading the model.
  4. Use estimate_memory for large batches.
  5. Use warmup once when low-latency forecasts matter.
  6. Use forecast_values, forecast_csv, forecast_with_covariates_values, or detect_anomalies as appropriate.

The TimesFM model is lazy-loaded and kept in process memory until the MCP server exits or a request changes model settings.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
