bevy-skills: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

bevy-skills CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from chrisgliddon/bevy-skills. It costs 1,602 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A set of Agent Skills that teaches AI coding tools how to write Bevy 0.19 code. Each skill is a folder with instructions and may include longer reference material; Bevy is a Rust game engine.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when creating or editing Bevy 0.19 skills, checking their metadata and examples, or preparing Rust snippets for validation in the companion test project.
Why use it?
It gives agents version-specific guidance and validation rules for Bevy projects, helping them avoid code that targets the wrong engine version or breaks the repository’s skill format.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01602 $0.01602
Opus 5 $0.00801 $0.00801
Sonnet 5 $0.00320 $0.00320
Haiku 4.5 $0.00160 $0.00160

Measured 9d ago against content hash 0fbf3dfe27e6, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-09, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

bevy-skills CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

CLAUDE.md — Guidance for agents editing this repo

What this repo is

A collection of Agent Skills for Bevy 0.19. Each skill is a folder under skills/<skill-name>/ containing SKILL.md (YAML frontmatter + markdown body) and optional references/ for long-form deep dives.

The skills target multiple consumers (Claude Code, OpenCode, Cursor, Codex). Conformance to both the Anthropic Agent Skills spec and the OpenCode Agent Skills spec is mandatory.

Hard rules for every SKILL.md

  1. Frontmatter shape — only these keys, in any order:

    ---
    name: bevy-<area> # ^[a-z0-9]+(-[a-z0-9]+)*$, 1–64 chars, equals directory name
description: <triggers> # 1–1024 chars, must include the target version
    license: MIT
    compatibility: opencode,claude-code,cursor
    metadata:
      tier: "1" # 1 (router/foundational), 2 (hot path), 3 (MMO), 4 (depth)
      area: <ecs|render|asset|net|...>
      bevy_version: "0.19" # current implementation target
    ---

  2. Description writes triggers, not workflow. Name ≥3 concrete API symbols or error symptoms. Agents trigger on this field — vague descriptions cause silent non-loading. Bad: "Helps with ECS components." Good: "Use when defining #[derive(Component)], declaring required components with #[require(...)], or hitting ComponentHooks::on_add in Bevy 0.19."

  3. Version-pinned, always. Every current implementation skill body opens with a "Bevy 0.19" heading. Historical migration skills instead name both source and target and set metadata.target_version for the linter. Every API is version-honest. If an API changed in 0.19, say so in the Gotchas section.

  4. Code first, prose last. Open the body with a working, copy-pasteable snippet. Prose explains the snippet, not the other way around.

  5. One concept per skill. Resist splitting "components" into 6 sub-skills. Resist bundling "ECS" into one mega-skill. If you can't write the description in one sentence with ≥3 concrete triggers, the skill scope is wrong.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
