intrinsic: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

intrinsic CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from cimomo/intrinsic. It costs 1,125 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Project instructions for a stock-analysis plugin that combines company research with discounted cash flow valuation. Discounted cash flow valuation estimates a company’s value from projected future cash generation.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to fetch financial data, research a stock, set valuation assumptions, calculate an estimated fair value, and produce an analysis report.
Why use it?
It explains how the plugin fetches financial data, calculates metrics, gathers qualitative research, and combines the results into reports.

Written for Claude Code: ${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT variable. Also seen: mentions CLAUDE.md; mentions Claude Code.

This is cimomo/intrinsic's own configuration. It tells Claude Code how to work on intrinsic itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything intrinsic configures →

Runs only inside a plugin — its command needs a path that Claude Code sets for a plugin’s own hooks and for nothing else, and the catalogue could not identify which plugin ships it.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01125 $0.01125
Opus 5 $0.00562 $0.00562
Sonnet 5 $0.00225 $0.00225
Haiku 4.5 $0.00112 $0.00112

Security

Grade A, and why

intrinsic CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Project Overview

Stock analysis plugin for Claude Code. Combines qualitative research with DCF valuation to produce investment reports. Data from Alpha Vantage API, processed through Python modules, presented via skills.

Skills

/fetch <ticker> [sources...] # Fetch & cache financial data from Alpha Vantage
/research <ticker>                 # Qualitative analysis -> saves research_YYYY-MM-DD.md
/calibrate <ticker>                # Walk through DCF assumptions
/value <ticker>                    # Metrics + DCF valuation -> saves valuation_YYYY-MM-DD.md
/report <ticker>                   # Synthesize research + valuation -> saves analysis_YYYY-MM-DD.md
/analyze <ticker>                   # Orchestrator: fetch -> research -> calibrate -> value -> report

Architecture

Data Flow

  1. AlphaVantageFetcher (av_fetcher.py) -> Raw financial data (JSON) from Alpha Vantage REST API
  2. FinancialMetrics (metrics.py) -> Parses raw data into structured metrics and DCF inputs
  3. DCFModel (dcf.py) -> 10-year FCF projection, terminal value, fair value per share
  4. StockManager (stock_manager.py) -> Folder management, assumption persistence, data caching
  5. Skills -> Orchestrate the workflow

Python Environment

When running as a plugin, stock_analyzer modules are importable via:

PYTHONPATH="${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT:-.}" python3 -c "from stock_analyzer import ..."

API Key Resolution

  1. CLAUDE_PLUGIN_OPTION_ALPHA_VANTAGE_API_KEY (plugin config)
  2. ALPHA_VANTAGE_API_KEY environment variable
  3. .env file via python-dotenv (development fallback)

Analysis Workflow

The /analyze skill chains sub-skills in sequence:

  1. /fetch -> fetches fresh data (including current quote price)
  2. /research -> saves research_YYYY-MM-DD.md
  3. /calibrate -> walks through DCF assumptions with research signals
  4. /value -> saves valuation_YYYY-MM-DD.md
  5. /report -> saves analysis_YYYY-MM-DD.md

Each sub-skill can also be run independently.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
