TeleBot CLAUDE.md

TeleBot CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from civilian7/TeleBot. It costs 808 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A set of project instructions for a Python Telegram notification bot. The bot sends messages, images, links, and documents to a configured Telegram chat rather than holding conversations.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when working on the bot's command-line, desktop GUI, or MCP server interfaces, or when building a standalone executable.
Why use it?
It explains how the project is organized, installed, run, and packaged so development work follows the repository's instructions.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00808 $0.00808
Opus 5 $0.00404 $0.00404
Sonnet 5 $0.00162 $0.00162
Haiku 4.5 $0.00081 $0.00081

Measured 5d ago against content hash e497d44994f1, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-06, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

TeleBot CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Project Overview

A Python Telegram notification bot (one-way message sender) that sends text, images, links, and documents to a configured Telegram chat. It is not a conversational bot — it only pushes messages outbound. Three interfaces: a programmatic async API, a Tkinter GUI, and an MCP server for AI agents.

Commands

# Install dependencies
pip install -r requirements.txt

# Run the bot (CLI, demo mode)
python bot.py

# Run the GUI application
python app.py

# Run the MCP server (stdio transport)
python mcp_server.py

Build (단일 실행파일)

pip install pyinstaller

# GUI 앱을 단일 .exe로 빌드 (콘솔 창 없음)
pyinstaller --onefile --noconsole --name TelegramSender --exclude-module PyQt5 --exclude-module PySide6 --exclude-module numpy --exclude-module PIL --exclude-module IPython --exclude-module pytest --exclude-module zmq --exclude-module nbformat --exclude-module jedi app.py

빌드 결과는 dist/TelegramSender.exe에 생성됨. .env 파일을 exe와 같은 디렉터리에 배치하거나, 실행 후 GUI에서 설정 입력.

Architecture

Three entry points sharing one core class:

  • bot.py — Core library. Contains TelegramSender, an async wrapper around python-telegram-bot (v21.6) Bot API. Methods: send_text, send_image, send_image_url, send_link, send_document. All methods are async and return the sent Message object. The main() function demonstrates usage via asyncio.run().

  • app.py — Tkinter GUI (App class) that wraps TelegramSender. Multi-tab interface (text, image, link, document). Each send operation spawns a daemon thread running asyncio.run() to avoid blocking the UI; GUI updates use root.after() for thread safety. Also provides .env configuration editing via python-dotenv.set_key().

  • mcp_server.py — FastMCP 기반 MCP 서버. TelegramSender의 5개 메서드를 MCP 도구로 노출하여 AI 에이전트가 텔레그램 메시지를 전송할 수 있도록 함. stdio transport 사용. 설정 샘플은 mcp_config.sample.json 참조.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
