Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00403 | $0.00403 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00201 | $0.00201 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00081 | $0.00081 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00040 | $0.00040 |
Grade A, and why
codex-toolkit AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured yesterday.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 30 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Codex Toolkit agent instructions
Purpose
This repository defines reusable Codex skills, agents, routing, installation, and evaluation behavior. Keep repository guidance small and durable; detailed task procedures belong in the relevant skill, orchestration document, script, or runbook.
Core invariants
- Route to the smallest specialist/workflow that owns the task. Do not turn optional workflow edges into mandatory chains.
- Repository-local
AGENTS.mdinstructions remain authoritative over generic toolkit guidance. - Specialist safety, approval, migration, and stop conditions cannot be bypassed by orchestration or completion helpers.
unlazyowns completion discipline;verification-and-releaseowns integrated ship/no-ship judgment. Keep those responsibilities distinct.- Managed global
AGENTS.mdinstallation must preserve all user content outside the toolkit markers and fail closed on malformed/duplicate managed blocks. - Auto-update behavior follows published releases, not unreleased
maincommits.
Changes
- Prefer editing an existing skill or router when the concept already has an owner; avoid overlapping skills with near-identical triggers.
- Keep skill descriptions precise about when the skill applies. Put long procedures and references behind progressive disclosure instead of front-loading them into descriptions or global routing.
- Do not encode model weaknesses as permanent ceremony when the behavior can be expressed as a durable constraint, permission boundary, trigger, or completion condition.
- Preserve installer idempotence, custom
CODEX_HOME, and cross-platform behavior when changing packaging or setup code.
Verification
Use the narrowest relevant checks while iterating. Before an integrated toolkit change is complete, run the repository-provided validation for the affected skills/routing/installer and the normal package/CI checks. Do not weaken validators to make a new skill or workflow pass.
Completion
A toolkit change is complete when routing remains unambiguous, installation/update behavior is preserved, affected validators/evaluations pass, public docs reflect user-visible changes, and any compatibility or rollout risk is stated explicitly.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

codex-toolkit AGENTS.md is an instructions file published in the GitHub repository cmdr-chara/codex-toolkit (2 stars, last pushed 2d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 403 tokens to every session, about $0.0020 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-13.
