email-templates: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

email-templates CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from ColorlibHQ/email-templates. It costs 1,540 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Repository instructions for editing a collection of responsive HTML email templates. They explain the project layout, build process, and which source files to change.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when adding or changing email templates, rebuilding the HTML files, or running the local development watcher.
Why use it?
They help an agent avoid editing generated files or applying website-specific rules to email templates. This reduces the risk of changes being overwritten or breaking the build.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01540 $0.01540
Opus 5 $0.00770 $0.00770
Sonnet 5 $0.00308 $0.00308
Haiku 4.5 $0.00154 $0.00154

Measured 8d ago against content hash cd1c5db1d1b1, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

email-templates CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

This file provides guidance to Claude Code (claude.ai/code) when working with code in this repository.

Repository purpose

Free, responsive HTML email templates published by Colorlib. 20 numbered template folders, served as-is to end users.

All 20 templates are now MJML-sourced. Each N/index.html is a build artifact generated from src/N.mjml. Never edit N/index.html directly — edit the source.

Note: the global ~/.claude/CLAUDE.md describes a Bootstrap-upgrade workflow for Colorlib website templates. That workflow does not apply here — these are email templates (table-based HTML, no Bootstrap, no jQuery, no SCSS).

Layout

src/
├── partials/
│ └── base.mjml # shared mj-attributes defaults across all templates
├── 1.mjml # → 1/index.html (RestoBar — restaurant)
├── 2.mjml # → 2/index.html (Corporate — agency)
├── 3.mjml # → 3/index.html (Agency — portfolio)
...
└── 20.mjml # → 20/index.html (Eventos — dev conference)

scripts/
├── build.mjs # compile all src/N.mjml → N/index.html
└── dev.mjs # watch src/ + browser-sync live-reload

1/, 2/, ..., 20/ # build artifacts — each has index.html + images/
index.html # gallery index linking to all 20 templates

Commands

npm install # one-time, installs mjml + browser-sync + chokidar
npm run build # compile every src/*.mjml → N/index.html
npm run dev # watch src/, live-reload at http://localhost:3000/

npm run dev opens the gallery index, which links to all 20 templates. Saving src/N.mjml rebuilds only that template; saving anything in src/partials/ rebuilds everything.

Editing or adding a template

To edit an existing template: edit src/N.mjml, run npm run build, verify in browser.

To add a new template: copy a structurally-similar src/N.mjml to src/21.mjml, change brand (font/colors/copy), add images to 21/images/, run npm run build. The build script picks up any numeric filename matching ^\d+\.mjml$. Add a card to index.html if you want it in the gallery.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
