local-livekit-plugins CLAUDE.md

local-livekit-plugins CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for coding agents from CoreWorxLab/local-livekit-plugins. It costs 303 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Project instructions for local LiveKit plugins that provide speech-to-text and text-to-speech without cloud APIs. They describe the package structure, important import rules, hardware notes, and development commands.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when developing, running, linting, type-checking, or testing the local faster-whisper speech-recognition and Piper speech-synthesis plugins.
Why use it?
They give a coding agent the project context needed to change or test these plugins without guessing how the repository works.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00303 $0.00303
Opus 5 $0.00151 $0.00151
Sonnet 5 $0.00061 $0.00061
Haiku 4.5 $0.00030 $0.00030

Measured 5d ago against content hash 87ec2955fd4c, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

local-livekit-plugins CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

CLAUDE.md

Project Overview

LiveKit Local Plugins - Custom STT and TTS plugins for LiveKit Agents that run entirely locally without cloud APIs.

Architecture

  • src/local_livekit_plugins/ - The installable Python package
    • faster_whisper_stt.py - STT plugin using faster-whisper (GPU-accelerated)
    • piper_tts.py - TTS plugin using Piper
  • examples/ - Demo code showing how to use the plugins (not part of installed package)

Key Technical Notes

  • Plugin imports must be at module level - LiveKit requires plugins to be registered on the main thread. Never import plugins inside functions.
  • PyTorch provides CUDA libraries - torch dependency bundles nvidia-cublas-cu12 etc. for faster-whisper GPU support
  • Piper CUDA has version constraints - CPU mode (use_cuda=False) is recommended due to CUDA 12+ compatibility issues

Development Commands

uv sync # Install dependencies
uv run examples/voice_agent.py dev # Run with LiveKit playground
uv run examples/voice_agent.py console # Run in console mode
uv run ruff check src/ # Lint
uv run mypy src/ # Type check
uv run pytest # Test

Environment

Requires .env.local in examples/ directory (copy from .env.local.example).

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
