cubrid-mcp-server AGENTS.md

cubrid-mcp-server AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from cubrid-lab/cubrid-mcp-server. It costs 1,086 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Repository instructions for cubrid-mcp-server, an MCP server for the CUBRID database that supports schema inspection and read-only queries.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when developing or maintaining the Python server, its database connection, schema tools, query explanations, health checks, or read-only safety checks.
Why use it?
They explain the project structure, coding requirements, and safety rules, including keeping database operations read-only and reserving standard output for the MCP protocol.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01086 $0.01086
Opus 5 $0.00543 $0.00543
Sonnet 5 $0.00217 $0.00217
Haiku 4.5 $0.00109 $0.00109

Security

Grade A, and why

cubrid-mcp-server AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured today.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Project Overview

cubrid-mcp-server is a Model Context Protocol server for the CUBRID database. It lets LLM clients safely inspect schemas and run read-only queries via the pure-Python pycubrid driver.

  • Package: cubrid_mcp_server/
  • Entry point: python -m cubrid_mcp_server
  • Tool surface (see README.md): schema inspection, index/serial/class-hierarchy listing, explain_query, execute_query (read-only), health_check.

Architecture

cubrid_mcp_server/
├── server.py # MCP server + tool definitions
├── database.py # pycubrid connection + query execution
├── safety.py # read-only SQL enforcement / whitelist
├── config.py # environment-variable configuration
├── context.py # request/connection context
└── __main__.py # module entry point

Code Conventions

  • Python 3.10+, fully typed (py.typed); keep mypy and ruff clean.
  • All logging MUST be routed to stderr. stdout is reserved for the MCP protocol stream — never print to stdout.
  • Read-only safety is a core invariant: any change touching safety.py / query execution must preserve read-only enforcement and ship tests.

Development

  • make install — install in development mode
  • make check — ruff lint + mypy typecheck
  • make test — unit tests (excludes integration)
  • make integration — integration tests (requires a live CUBRID)
  • make release VERSION=x.y.z — release commit + tag

Release Process

Version is single-sourced from cubrid_mcp_server/__init__.py__version__ = "x.y.z".

Steps:

  1. Bump the version and add a dated changelog entry in CHANGELOG.md (## [x.y.z] - YYYY-MM-DD).
  2. Open a PR and merge to main.
  3. Push the tag on the merged commit: git tag vx.y.z <merged-sha> && git push origin vx.y.z.
  4. The tag push triggers .github/workflows/create-release.yml, which extracts the ## [x.y.z] - YYYY-MM-DD section from CHANGELOG.md (fail-closed — no fallback) and creates the GitHub Release titled vx.y.z with that body, after verifying the tag is an ancestor of origin/main.
  5. Publishing the GitHub Release triggers .github/workflows/publish-pypi.yml, which rebuilds, verifies, and publishes to PyPI via Trusted Publisher (OIDC).

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
