Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00458 $0.00458
Opus 5 $0.00229 $0.00229
Sonnet 5 $0.00092 $0.00092
Haiku 4.5 $0.00046 $0.00046

Measured 9d ago against content hash c1e5fb062bab, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-09, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

spicyclaude CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

CLAUDE.md

Principles

  • Delete more than you add — complexity compounds into disasters
  • Follow SOLID and KISS
  • Fail fast and loud, not silently
  • Code for an MVP at a rapidly iterating startup, not an enterprise
  • No backwards compatibility unless explicitly requested
  • One class per file
  • Add docblocks to public functions and classes, avoid inline comments
  • Don't post-rationalize ignoring linting and typing rules

Code Intelligence

Prefer LSP (workspaceSymbol, findReferences, goToDefinition, hover) over Grep/Read for code navigation — faster, precise, no full-file reads. Use Grep for text/pattern searches (comments, strings, config) and when LSP isn't available.

After writing or editing code, check LSP diagnostics and fix errors before proceeding.

Documentation

  • README is a map, not a manual — link to deeper docs, don't inline entire guides
  • Cut history: reversed decisions, removed features, and migration notes belong in git log, not docs
  • Document what exists now, not what used to exist or what's planned
  • Same rule applies to comments — no "we used to do X" or "previously Y was needed"
  • Don't restate what readable code already says — document the non-obvious: invariants, gotchas, intentional constraints

CLAUDE.md files

  • Purpose: index, light guide, conventions — not a novel, not a textbook, not a file registry
  • Describe only the top-level structure at the current directory (depth 0). Subdirectories get their own CLAUDE.md if they need one
  • Don't enumerate every file or describe what code does — readable code speaks for itself
  • Avoid brittle facts that change with normal edits (test counts, function counts, exhaustive lists). If editing code routinely forces a CLAUDE.md update, the CLAUDE.md is wrong

Commit Protocol

Use conventional commits (feat:, fix:, refactor:, etc.):

git commit -m "feat: {description}" \
  -m "- {change 1}" \
  -m "- {change 2}"
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
