claude-code-agents-manager: Instructions file for GitHub Copilot

.github/copilot-instructions.md

claude-code-agents-manager copilot-instructions.md is an instructions file for GitHub Copilot from dallasgoldswain/claude-code-agents-manager. It costs 1,024 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Project instructions for a Ruby command-line tool that clones agent and command repositories, normalizes their filenames, and exposes them through symbolic links in Claude's configuration folders.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when changing repository cloning, filename processing, symbolic-link management, removal flows, terminal output, errors, or the command-line interface.
Why use it?
They keep responsibilities separated across the tool's services and prevent agents from introducing a second, conflicting architecture.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01024 $0.01024
Opus 5 $0.00512 $0.00512
Sonnet 5 $0.00205 $0.00205
Haiku 4.5 $0.00102 $0.00102

Security

Grade A, and why

claude-code-agents-manager copilot-instructions.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Copilot Project Instructions (Ruby ≥ 3.4.6)

Ultra-focused guidance for AI coding agents. Keep it lean; change only within existing service boundaries.

1. Purpose

Clone upstream agent/command repos, normalize filenames, expose them via symlinks under ~/.claude/{agents,commands}. Core logic: lib/claude_agents. Never introduce a parallel architecture.

2. Service Layer Map

config.rb (truth source: components, counts, prefixes, destinations) – extend here only. installer.rb (repo clone/update via gh, build file mappings, delegate to symlinks). file_processor.rb (all filename shaping + skip logic; category flattening for "awesome" collection). symlink_manager.rb (single place for create/remove + result hashes {status:, display_name: ...}). remover.rb (batch removal flow; no direct FS deletions elsewhere). ui.rb (TTY + color output; never puts from services directly). errors.rb (typed errors + central handler). claude_agents_cli.rb (Thor thin façade; validate → delegate → format).

3. Ruby 3.4+ Guidance

Target runtime: ruby ">= 3.4.6" (see Gemfile). Use: pattern matching (case/in guards) sparingly & only if it simplifies existing branching (no wholesale rewrites). Avoid: introducing Ractors / fibers for parallelism without approval. Assume frozen string literals; keep # frozen_string_literal: true. Prefer Pathname only where already used (file_processor category logic). Do not swap standard lib choices (e.g. keep FileUtils, not Pathname rewrites) unless adding narrowly-scoped helper.

4. Naming & Flattening Rules

Agents: dLabs-*, wshobson-*, category-* (awesome: strip leading numeric segment from folder, then prefix filename with cleaned category). Commands: tools/workflows directories preserved; root commands get wshobson- prefix. Modify ONLY relevant process_* method bodies; never post-process after mapping.

5. Skip / Filtering

Single entry: FileProcessor#should_skip_file? (+ Config.skip_file?). Rules: ignore dirs, dotfiles, examples/, patterns in global skip list. Add new exclusion? Extend that method—nowhere else.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
