media-os: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

media-os CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from damionrashford/media-os. It costs 3,222 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Repository instructions for contributors maintaining the media-os Claude Code plugin and its catalogue of skills. A plugin is an installable bundle that adds capabilities to a coding assistant.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when adding or maintaining skills, plugin metadata, marketplace entries, and other files in the media-os repository.
Why use it?
They explain the repository structure and rules, helping contributors edit the plugin correctly without confusing developer files with end-user documentation.

Instructions file for Claude Code

Written for Claude Code: ${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT} variable. Also seen: reads .claude/ paths; mentions CLAUDE.md; mentions Claude Code.

This is damionrashford/media-os's own configuration. It tells Claude Code how to work on media-os itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything media-os configures →

Runs only inside a plugin — its command needs a path that Claude Code sets for a plugin’s own hooks and for nothing else, and the catalogue could not identify which plugin ships it.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.03222 $0.03222
Opus 5 $0.01611 $0.01611
Sonnet 5 $0.00644 $0.00644
Haiku 4.5 $0.00322 $0.00322

Measured 12d ago against content hash d5cbbc928de0, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-12, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

media-os CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

CLAUDE.md

Development instructions for Claude Code when working IN this repository (authoring / maintaining skills).

This is NOT documentation for end users of the plugin. End users install via /plugin install media-os@media-os and invoke skills. This file is for contributors editing skill source.

Repository role

This repo IS a Claude Code plugin + marketplace. Users install the media-os plugin from the media-os marketplace. The plugin surface is the skills/ directory at repo root (96 skills). The .claude-plugin/ directory holds the plugin manifest and marketplace catalog.

There is no service, no app, no build step. The deliverable is the directory tree itself.

Directory layout

.claude-plugin/
plugin.json # plugin manifest (userConfig fields live here, keep versions in sync)
  marketplace.json # marketplace catalog (one entry: media-os → ./)

  settings.json # contributor-friendly permission defaults
skills/ # 96 tool-and-technique skills + 13 workflow-* orchestration skills — distributed

  hooks.json # 4 lifecycle hooks (SessionStart, UserPromptSubmit, Pre/PostToolUse)
  scripts/ # hook executables (stdlib Python 3, PEP 723)

LICENSE # MIT
CHANGELOG.md # release history

Invariant: the skills/ directory is the plugin's entire user-facing surface. Everything else supports authoring, docs, or distribution.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
