sqrl: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

sqrl AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from DataSQRL/sqrl. It costs 2,477 tokens per session, scanned B, original, Apache-2.0.

A repository instruction file for the DataSQRL project that tells coding agents what the project does, which outside systems it uses, and how to build and format it. DataSQRL is a Java and Maven data-engineering system that turns SQL-like scripts into data pipelines.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when an agent needs to understand the repository, work with its Kafka, Flink, PostgreSQL, Iceberg, or GraphQL integrations, or run its Maven build and formatting commands.
Why use it?
It gives an agent the project context and the commands needed to work without guessing how the repository is built or checked.

Instructions file for CodexOpenCode

Written for Codex and OpenCode: the file is AGENTS.md. Also seen: positional $N argument; mentions Claude Code; mentions Codex.

This is DataSQRL/sqrl's own configuration. It tells Codex and OpenCode how to work on sqrl itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything sqrl configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.02477 $0.02477
Opus 5.5 $0.00991 $0.00991
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00495 $0.00495
Haiku 4.5 $0.00248 $0.00248

Security

Grade B, and why

sqrl AGENTS.md scanned grade B with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 23d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Asks for rootmediumPrivilege escalation

A mod that escalates privileges can change anything on the machine, not only the project.

DataSQRL

This file provides guidance to coding agents (e.g., Claude Code, Codex) when working with code in this repository.

Project Overview

DataSQRL is an open-source data engineering harness for building data engineering agents designed around human control, correctness, and safety. It extends coding agents with a SQL compiler, a validator, an event-time simulator, and skills. The compiler turns SQL-like scripts (SQRL) into complete data pipelines that integrate Kafka, Flink, PostgreSQL, Iceberg, GraphQL APIs, and LLM tooling. Built with Java 17 and Maven.

External Dependencies

The following repositories contain additional runtime components:

  • Flink SQL Runner: Runs the Flink compiled plan and provides additional utilities for Flink

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
