nvidia-nim-mcp: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

nvidia-nim-mcp AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from david-eve-za/nvidia-nim-mcp. It costs 941 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A contributor guide for the NVIDIA NIM MCP Server, a TypeScript project that lets an AI system connect to services through the Model Context Protocol. It documents build, development, linting, testing, and code-style commands.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to clean and compile TypeScript, run the development server, lint code, run targeted or complete tests, and follow the project’s import and formatting rules.
Why use it?
It gives coding agents the repository’s expected commands and conventions instead of leaving them to guess how to build or verify changes.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00941 $0.00941
Opus 5 $0.00470 $0.00470
Sonnet 5 $0.00188 $0.00188
Haiku 4.5 $0.00094 $0.00094

Measured 10d ago against content hash 5baa657c3953, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-10, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

nvidia-nim-mcp AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Code Style Guidelines

Imports

  • Use ES modules with .js extensions even in TypeScript files
  • Import ordering: external packages, internal modules, type-only imports
  • Use named imports over default imports when possible
  • Group imports logically with blank lines between groups

Formatting

  • TypeScript strict mode enabled
  • Prettier-style formatting (via ESLint)
  • 2-space indentation
  • Line width: 80 characters
  • Trailing commas in multi-line objects/arrays
  • No semicolons (recommended by modern TypeScript)

Types

  • Prefer interfaces over types for object shapes
  • Use Zod for runtime validation of external inputs
  • Explicit typing for function parameters and return values
  • Strict null checking enabled
  • Avoid any type except in rare justified cases

Naming Conventions

  • camelCase for variables and functions
  • PascalCase for classes, interfaces, and types
  • UPPER_CASE for constants
  • Descriptive names over abbreviations
  • Boolean variables prefixed with is, has, should, etc.

Error Handling

  • Use typed errors and proper error hierarchies
  • Always handle promise rejections
  • Centralized error logging with winston
  • User-friendly error messages for clients
  • Preserve stack traces during error wrapping

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
