tradeblocks-skills: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

tradeblocks-skills CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from davidromeo/tradeblocks-skills. It costs 533 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Project instructions for a Claude Code plugin that coordinates options-trading portfolio analysis through the separate TradeBlocks service. The plugin’s skills describe workflows, while the TradeBlocks service performs the actual queries and simulations.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when developing or configuring this plugin, its analysis workflows, reference guides, or connection to the TradeBlocks service.
Why use it?
They explain which part of the system owns the workflow and which part supplies the trading data and calculations. This prevents treating the static skill files as the implementation or forgetting the required service.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00533 $0.00533
Opus 5 $0.00267 $0.00267
Sonnet 5 $0.00107 $0.00107
Haiku 4.5 $0.00053 $0.00053

Security

Grade A, and why

tradeblocks-skills CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

CLAUDE.md

This file provides guidance to Claude Code (claude.ai/code) when working with code in this repository.

What This Is

A Claude Code plugin providing guided analysis skills for Option Omega backtests and options trading portfolios. Requires the TradeBlocks MCP server to be running separately. Distributed via the Agent Skills marketplace.

Architecture

.claude-plugin/ Plugin metadata (plugin.json, marketplace.json)
skills/ 8 skill directories, each with SKILL.md + references/

Skills are workflow choreographers, not implementations. Each SKILL.md describes a multi-step analysis workflow that invokes MCP tools in sequence. The actual logic lives in the TradeBlocks MCP server (50+ tools for trade queries, simulations, and analysis), which users install separately.

Reference files are interpretation guides. Each references/*.md explains how to read analysis results — thresholds, tables, domain-specific nuance. Skills link to them contextually, not as prerequisites.

Setup

No build, lint, or test steps — skills are static markdown. The TradeBlocks MCP server must be installed and running separately.

Skill Structure

Every skill follows this pattern in its SKILL.md:

---
name: skill-id
description: one-liner + trigger conditions
compatibility: MCP server requirements
metadata: author, version
---

Followed by: Prerequisites → Process (numbered steps with specific MCP tool calls) → Interpretation Reference → Related Skills.

Plugin Distribution

  • .claude-plugin/plugin.json — name, version, author for the plugin itself
  • .claude-plugin/marketplace.json — lists all skills, sets strict: true, defines marketplace entry
  • Install path: /plugin marketplace add davidromeo/tradeblocks-skills then /plugin install tradeblocks@tradeblocks-skills

Domain Concepts

  • Blocks — named strategy containers in the DuckDB database. Most tools require a blockId from list_blocks.
  • Strategy profiles — persistent metadata about a strategy's structure, entry filters, and expected regimes. Created by profile_strategy, consumed by analysis skills.
  • Curve-fit detection — a first-class concern, especially in DC analysis. Multiple steps dedicated to identifying overfitting via walk-forward efficiency, parameter sensitivity, and out-of-sample degradation.
  • Tail correlation — portfolio/risk skills distinguish normal vs tail correlation (Kendall's tau, joint tail dependence) because trading returns violate Gaussian assumptions.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
