Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00641 | $0.00641 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00320 | $0.00320 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00128 | $0.00128 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00064 | $0.00064 |
Grade A, and why
dcc-mcp-houdini CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 75 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
CLAUDE.md — Claude Desktop / Anthropic API Integration Guide
Claude-specific integration notes for
dcc-mcp-houdini. For the full project map, see AGENTS.md.
What This Project Does
dcc-mcp-houdini embeds an MCP Streamable HTTP server directly inside SideFX Houdini. Claude Desktop (or any Anthropic API client using MCP) can call 180+ Houdini tools across 30 skill packages over HTTP — scene inspection, node authoring, HDA execution, rendering, and more.
Claude Desktop Configuration
Add to claude_desktop_config.json:
{
"mcpServers": {
"houdini": {
"url": "http://127.0.0.1:9765/mcp"
}
}
}
File locations:
- Windows:
%APPDATA%\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json - macOS:
~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json
If running gateway mode, use http://127.0.0.1:9765/mcp instead.
Restart Claude Desktop after editing.
Progressive Loading — Important for Claude
By default, dcc-mcp-houdini starts in minimal mode with only 2 skills loaded:
houdini-scriptinghoudini-scene
All other skills must be loaded on demand. When Claude needs a tool from an unloaded skill:
- Call
load_skill("houdini-nodes")to expand the skill. - Then call the typed tool (e.g.,
houdini_nodes__create_node).
Claude-Specific Tips
- Viewport feedback: Ask Claude to call
houdini_render__capture_viewportafter scene changes. The base64 PNG lets Claude "see" the current state. - Node networks: Claude excels at building SOP/OBJ networks. Chain
create_node→set_node_parms→connect_nodes→cook_node. - Code execution: Prefer
search_skills→load_skill→ typed tools. Useexecute_pythononly as last resort. - HDA automation: Use
houdini_hda_automation__instantiate_hdaandhoudini_hda_automation__cook_top_networkfor HDA workflows. - Cancellation: Claude can send
notifications/cancelledfor long renders.
Quick Test Prompts
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
- 9d ago First seen · 75 lines · 641 tokens per session scan A 240ceb6b127f
dcc-mcp-houdini CLAUDE.md is an instructions file published in the GitHub repository dcc-mcp/dcc-mcp-houdini (12 stars, last pushed 2d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 641 tokens to every session, about $0.0032 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
