obsidian-claude-code-plugin CLAUDE.md

obsidian-claude-code-plugin CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for coding agents from deivid11/obsidian-claude-code-plugin. It costs 379 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Repository instructions for an Obsidian plugin that lets users use Claude Code with the current note and the whole vault. Obsidian is an app for linked notes, and a vault is its folder of notes.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when changing the plugin, running its development or production build, installing it in an Obsidian vault, or working on its command runner, saved sessions, or user interface.
Why use it?
They keep development aligned with the project documentation and requirements while showing where the main code lives and how to build it.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00379 $0.00379
Opus 5 $0.00189 $0.00189
Sonnet 5 $0.00076 $0.00076
Haiku 4.5 $0.00038 $0.00038

Measured 4d ago against content hash 3e9fec25b408, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

obsidian-claude-code-plugin CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Claude Code Integration for Obsidian

Overview

This plugin integrates Claude Code into Obsidian, allowing you to chat with Claude about your current note and the entire vault.

Documentation is in the docs directory.

⚠️ CRITICAL: ALWAYS FOLLOW DOCUMENTATION AND PRD

You must always follow the documentation and PRD. If you have questions, please ask the user before beginning work.

Commands

  • npm run dev: Build the plugin in development mode (watch mode).
  • npm run build: Build the plugin for production.
  • make build-install DEST=<path>: Build and install to a specific Obsidian vault.
  • make setup-plugin DEST=<path>: Symlink the build directory to an Obsidian vault.

Code Structure

  • src/main.ts: Entry point. Registers view, commands, and settings.
  • src/core/: Core logic (Runner, Settings, Session Manager).
    • claude-code-runner.ts: Manages the claude CLI process.
    • session-manager.ts: Handles session persistence per note.
  • src/ui/: User Interface (View, Renderers).
    • view.ts: Main view logic.
    • ui-builder.ts: DOM construction.
  • src/managers/: State managers (Note Context).

Architecture

  • Process Model: Spawns claude CLI as a child process.
  • Communication: Stdin/Stdout (JSON stream).
  • State: Per-note context (history, active process).
  • Storage: .obsidian/plugins/claude-code-integration/sessions/.

Key Features

  • Chat interface for Claude Code.
  • Context-aware (current note, vault).
  • Streaming responses.
  • Diff view for file modifications.
  • Tool usage tracking.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
