polymarket-agent-mcp: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

polymarket-agent-mcp CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from demwick/polymarket-agent-mcp. It costs 974 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Repository instructions for a TypeScript MCP server that supports Polymarket trading and automation. MCP is a standard way for an agent to call tools provided by a server.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when building, testing, type-checking, or modifying the Polymarket server and its tools, services, or database layer.
Why use it?
It gives coding agents the project’s commands, entry point, three-layer structure, and testing conventions, reducing guesswork when changing the repository.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00974 $0.00974
Opus 5 $0.00487 $0.00487
Sonnet 5 $0.00195 $0.00195
Haiku 4.5 $0.00097 $0.00097

Measured 6d ago against content hash 2e463728ec7b, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-06, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

polymarket-agent-mcp CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Architecture

MCP server for Polymarket trading and automation. Three-layer design: Tools → Services → Database.

Entry Point & MCP Server

src/index.ts bootstraps everything: opens SQLite DB, creates service instances (BudgetManager, TradeExecutor, WalletMonitor, PositionTracker), registers 48 MCP tools, and handles graceful shutdown (SIGINT/SIGTERM). Dashboard is a separate project (polymarket-dashboard).

Layers

Tools (src/tools/*.ts): Each file exports a Zod schema and an async handler function. Tools validate input, call services, and return markdown-formatted strings. All tools are registered in index.ts via server.tool().

Services (src/services/*.ts): Business logic layer.

  • WalletMonitor — polls watched wallets on an interval, calls filterNewTrades to find copy candidates, runs market quality filter, uses BudgetManager to size positions, executes via TradeExecutor. Has tick-lock to prevent overlapping executions.
  • TradeExecutor — preview mode records simulated trades in DB; live mode uses @polymarket/clob-client to place real orders. Validates CLOB responses. Supports atomic trade+budget recording via recordTradeWithBudget.
  • PositionTracker — checks open positions for stop-loss/take-profit, trader exits (data API), and market resolutions (CLOB API). Recycles budget on close.
  • BudgetManager — daily spending limits with conviction-based multipliers (low/normal/high).
  • ConvictionScorer — 0-100 score across 5 dimensions (win rate, volume, consistency, experience, diversity).
  • MarketFilter — spread, bid/ask depth, price range checks. Auto-integrated into WalletMonitor.
  • Backtester — simulates copying a trader's historical trades.
  • SmartFlow — scans top N traders for convergence signals (multiple traders buying same market).
  • PriceHistory — historical price data from CLOB API with OHLC.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
