Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

Grade A, and why
ask-oracle-mcp AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 115 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Agent Guidelines: ask-oracle-mcp
Instructions for autonomous agents working in this repository.
Project Overview
ask-oracle-mcp is a Node.js MCP server that exposes Oracle schema introspection and SQL execution over stdio. It contains two executable entry points:
src/server.ts: MCP server withlist_tables,describe_table, andrun_sqltools.src/client-example.ts: Terminal I/O and MCP transport for the demo host.
The server must remain independent of any LLM. Natural-language translation belongs in the host. Oracle access uses node-oracledb thin mode and a module-level connection pool.
Architecture
src/server.ts: MCP registration, read-only SQL guard, lifecycle, and stdio transport.src/server/db.ts: Oracle pool and query execution.src/server/schema.ts: Cheap table listing and one-tableALL_TAB_COLUMNSintrospection.src/server/sql-policy.ts: Dual server/caller write authorization.src/client-example.ts: CLI options, transport, terminal input, and output.src/client/agent.ts: Bounded pi-ai tool-calling loop and host-side write policy.src/client/llm.ts: pi-ai provider/model resolution plus keyless Ollama registration.src/client/credential-store.ts: Persistent pi-ai OAuth/API-key credential storage.src/client/mcp-content.ts: Runtime validation of MCP content.src/client/repl.ts: Repeated Inquirer question loop and per-question recovery.src/client/sql.ts: Generated SQL normalization and read-only classification.src/env.ts: Required environment-variable validation.vite.config.ts: Multi-entry SSR build producingdist/server.jsanddist/client-example.js.
Environment
The server and demo resolve Oracle configuration from CLI options, environment variables, or persistent configuration:
ORACLE_USERORACLE_PASSWORDORACLE_SERVER
CLI values override environment variables, which override saved Oracle configuration. Supplied Oracle CLI values are persisted. Persistent data defaults to ${XDG_CONFIG_HOME:-~/.config}/ask-oracle-mcp and can be relocated with ASK_ORACLE_CONFIG_DIR. The demo uses LLM_PROVIDER (default ollama) and LLM_MODEL. OLLAMA_MODEL and OPENAI_MODEL are supported provider-specific model fallbacks. OLLAMA_HOST is optional and defaults to http://localhost:11434; LLM_AUTH_FILE overrides the persistent LLM credential path.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
