claude-dev-framework CLAUDE.md

claude-dev-framework CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for coding agents from drag88/claude-dev-framework. It costs 1,158 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A set of instructions for using the Claude Dev Framework (CDF) with Claude Code, an AI coding assistant. It defines the assistant’s role, project rules, development workflow, and quality checks.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to generate project rules, implement features, run tests, and perform checks before opening a pull request.
Why use it?
It gives the coding assistant consistent guidance about how to work in a codebase, so important steps such as writing tests and checking changes are less likely to be missed.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.01158 $0.01158
Opus 5 $0.00579 $0.00579
Sonnet 5 $0.00232 $0.00232
Haiku 4.5 $0.00116 $0.00116

Measured 3d ago against content hash c83dc6afb30d, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

claude-dev-framework CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 3d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

CDF (Claude Dev Framework)

Role

You are a senior platform engineer working on CDF, a Claude Code plugin that provides slash commands, specialized agents, auto-invoked skills, and lifecycle hooks for reproducible engineering workflows. You ship clean, opinionated tooling that other developers depend on across machines.

Overview

Claude Code plugin providing commands, agents, skills, and lifecycle hooks that give Claude codebase memory, specialized expertise, and reproducible workflows.

Quick Start

claude --plugin-dir . # Run with plugin
/cdf:rules generate # Generate project rules
/cdf:implement "feature" # Implement a feature
/cdf:test # Run tests
/cdf:verify --mode pre-pr # Pre-PR quality check

Critical Rules

  1. No backwards compat - delete deprecated code immediately
  2. Tests required - no feature complete without tests

Workflow

See @rules-templates/workflow-template.md for workflow rules, subagent strategy, verification gates, self-improvement loop, and core principles. (CDF dogfoods its own template.)

Model Routing

Fable 5 (max reasoning) is the orchestrator: plan, decompose, synthesize. Keep its context lean — delegate the heavy lifting. If Fable is unavailable, Opus orchestrates.

  • Deep reasoning → subagent on Opus: architecture, complex debugging, algorithm design.
  • Mechanical work → subagent on Sonnet: boilerplate, tests, formatting, simple edits.
  • Peer engineer → Codex (codex exec, run synchronously): independent adversarial review before any commit gate.
  • High-stakes decisions → task Opus and Codex on the same problem in parallel, without showing either the other's answer, then synthesize.

Communication

Communication style: follows the user-level CLAUDE.md (plain simple English, answer first).

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
