Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.01041 | $0.01041 |
| Opus 5.5 | $0.00416 | $0.00416 |
| Sonnet 5.5 | $0.00208 | $0.00208 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00104 | $0.00104 |
Grade A, and why
fonto-docs-mcp AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 13d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 57 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
fonto-docs-mcp
MCP server (and plain HTTP API) that makes Fonto XML documentation readable by AI tools. The Fonto docs site is a JS SPA — this server fetches the underlying XML files directly and converts them to Markdown on demand.
Commands
npm start # production server (port 8080 or $PORT)
npm run dev # auto-restart on file changes
npm test # unit tests via Node.js built-in test runner
Source files
| File | Responsibility |
|---|---|
src/fonto.js |
Fetches XML from documentation.fontoxml.com/static/xml/latest/<slug>.xml, parses it with slimdom + fontoxpath, and renders it to Markdown. Also calls the Fonto search API, and resolves API symbol names to pages via exact title match against the catalog (findApiMatches, lookupApi). |
src/mcp.js |
MCP protocol handler. Defines tools (search_fonto_docs, get_fonto_page, lookup_api, list_pages), the fonto://catalog resource, and the fonto://page/{slug} resource template. Routes requests to fonto.js. |
src/server.js |
HTTP server. Routes: POST /mcp, GET /search, GET /page/:slug, GET /api/:name, GET /catalog, GET /openapi.json, GET /llms.txt, GET /robots.txt, GET /sitemap.xml, GET /.well-known/mcp/server-card.json, GET /health (not /healthz — reserved by GCP; exempt from rate limiting), GET /, GET /privacy. |
src/static/ |
Files served by server.js: index.html (landing page; {{SECTION_GRID}} is filled from SECTIONS in server.js), privacy.html, llms.txt, favicon.svg, og-image.svg. og-image.png and favicon.png are rendered from the SVGs during the Docker build. The favicon doubles as the MCP server icon (SERVER_ICONS in mcp.js, also in server.json). |
src/fonto.test.js |
Unit tests for xmlToMarkdown, lookup_api name matching, and the MCP handler in mcp.js, using Node.js built-in test runner (no extra dependencies). |
XML → Markdown pipeline
Fonto XML has two document shapes:
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

fonto-docs-mcp AGENTS.md is an instructions file published in the GitHub repository DrRataplan/fonto-docs-mcp (5 stars, last pushed 13d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 1,041 tokens to every session, about $0.0042 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-10.
