Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|

| Opus 5 | $0.01040 | $0.01040 |

Grade A, and why
crawly-mcp AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 94 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
AGENTS.md
Project
crawly exposes two browser-backed operations — search and fetch — as MCP tools and a CLI for local LLM workflows. The implementation is built on patchright (a Playwright fork with bundled fingerprint patches), is async, and supports either a host Chromium binary or a patchright-managed Chromium bundle depending on runtime configuration.
The authoritative design document is docs/IMPLEMENTATION_PLAN.md. The user-facing overview is in README.md.

Tooling
- uv — project and dependency manager. Use
uv sync,uv add,uv add --dev,uv run <cmd>. Do not invokepipdirectly. - patchright + Chromium — browser automation via the
patchrightPlaywright fork, which adds the fingerprint patches we depend on for search-provider traffic. Host mode uses a system Chromium binary; bundled mode uses patchright-managed Chromium (patchright install chromium). - MCP SDK (
mcp>=1.27.0) — tool server, stdio, SSE, and streamable-http transports. - pydantic — request/response models and validation.
- beautifulsoup4 — HTML parsing for search result extraction.
- pytest + pytest-asyncio — test runner; async tests are standard.
- ruff — formatter and linter (black-compatible,
line-length = 88). Configured in pyproject.toml withE W F I B UP SIM C90 N S A C4 PIE RET ARG PTH ERA PL TRY RUFplus isort forcrawly_mcpas first-party. - ast-index — native Rust CLI for structural code lookup across the Python tree. Use it as the primary code-search tool in this repo: prefer
ast-index search,ast-index class,ast-index usages, andast-index refsover ad-hocgrep/rgwhen locating symbols, call sites, or implementations. Keep the index fresh withast-index update, or rebuild from scratch withast-index rebuildafter large refactors. Useful entry points:ast-index map,ast-index conventions,ast-index outline <file>, andast-index changed --base mainbefore review. Fall back torgonly for regex patterns, comment content, or string literals that are not indexed. - loguru — runtime logging. All modules log through
loguru.logger; thecrawly_mcp._logging.configure_logginghelper installs a single stderr sink (critical for stdio MCP transport) and intercepts stdlibloggingso uvicorn and MCP SDK logs share the same sink. Level is controlled byCRAWLY_LOG_LEVEL(defaultINFO; accepted valuesTRACE DEBUG INFO WARNING ERROR CRITICAL). Log entry/exit of tool calls atINFO; reserveDEBUGfor fine-grained parser/challenge/timing traces.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

crawly-mcp AGENTS.md is an instructions file published in the GitHub repository dshein-alt/crawly-mcp (4 stars, last pushed 3mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 2,079 tokens to every session, about $0.0104 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
