img-converter: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

img-converter CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from dutchbase/img-converter. It costs 632 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Project instructions for a web app that converts image files between formats. Users select or drop a file, the app processes it on the server, and then offers the converted file for download.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when developing image-format conversion, request validation, browser file selection, downloads, or the app’s build and lint checks.
Why use it?
It explains the file-processing path and the commands developers should run to check that the TypeScript app builds correctly. There is no test suite yet.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00632 $0.00632
Opus 5 $0.00316 $0.00316
Sonnet 5 $0.00126 $0.00126
Haiku 4.5 $0.00063 $0.00063

Measured 7d ago against content hash 6195a1354948, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

img-converter CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Commands

npm run dev # Start dev server at http://localhost:3000
npm run build # Production build (also runs TypeScript type-check)
npm run lint # ESLint

There is no test suite yet. Always run npm run build to verify TypeScript compiles before finishing changes.

Architecture

Stack: Next.js 16 (App Router) + TypeScript + Tailwind CSS + Sharp

Image processing pipeline:

  1. User drops/selects a file in the browser (DropZone)
  2. ImageConverter (client component, holds all state) sends a multipart/form-data POST to /api/convert
  3. app/api/convert/route.ts validates the request, calls lib/imageProcessor.ts, and streams the result back as binary with Content-Disposition: attachment
  4. The client creates a blob URL and presents a download link in ConvertResult

Key files:

  • types/index.ts — shared types and constants (formats, MIME types, extensions)
  • types/client.ts — re-exports types/index.ts plus the client-side detectFormatFromMime helper (keep server-safe code in index.ts)
  • lib/imageProcessor.ts — all Sharp logic: format conversion, resize, metadata stripping
  • app/api/convert/route.ts — single POST endpoint; validates input, calls processor, returns binary
  • components/ImageConverter.tsx — top-level stateful component, orchestrates the full UX flow
  • components/DropZone.tsx — drag-and-drop / file input
  • components/ConvertOptions.tsx — format selector, quality slider, resize inputs, metadata toggle
  • components/ConvertResult.tsx — download link + size comparison stats
  • components/ImagePreview.tsx — previews the source image before conversion

Supported formats: JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, TIFF — all directions.

Quality slider only applies to lossy formats (QUALITY_FORMATS in types/index.ts). PNG uses compression level derived from quality. GIF ignores quality.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
