go-agent-skills: Instructions file for Claude Code

AGENTS.md

go-agent-skills AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode from eduardo-sl/go-agent-skills. It costs 1,131 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A set of instructions for AI coding agents working in a repository of reusable guidance for Go development. It explains the repository layout and standards for writing or changing skill files, which are instruction documents for agents.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when reviewing, editing, or adding Go-focused agent skills, especially when checking their structure, documentation, tools, and version information.
Why use it?
It gives contributors the project context and required file conventions before they make changes. This prevents treating the repository like a normal Go program or omitting required metadata.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01131 $0.01131
Opus 5 $0.00566 $0.00566
Sonnet 5 $0.00226 $0.00226
Haiku 4.5 $0.00113 $0.00113

Measured 9d ago against content hash 0d016f7af3b5, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-09, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

go-agent-skills AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Guidance for AI Coding Agents

You are working on go-agent-skills, a repository of curated AI agent skills for Go development. These skills follow the Agent Skills standard format.

Project Context

This is NOT a Go application. It is a collection of Markdown instruction files (SKILL.md) that teach AI coding agents how to write idiomatic Go. The repo has no Go source code, no go.mod, and no build artifacts.

Repository Structure

skills/(category-name)/skill-name/SKILL.md
  • Categories use parentheses: (code-quality), (architecture), etc.
  • Each category has a _category.json with metadata.
  • Each skill is a directory containing at minimum a SKILL.md.
  • Skills may also contain references/ for supplementary docs.

When modifying skills

  1. Read docs/SKILL_GUIDELINES.md first. It defines the quality standards.
  2. Keep SKILL.md under 500 lines. Move detailed content to references/.
  3. YAML frontmatter is mandatory. Every SKILL.md must have name, description, user-invocable, license, compatibility, allowed-tools, metadata.author and metadata.version. allowed-tools is least-privilege: no Edit/Write for review-only skills, and every Bash(...) entry scoped to one binary.
  4. Name must match directory name. go-code-review/SKILL.mdname: go-code-review.
  5. Description must include trigger phrases AND negative triggers. Example:
Use when: "review this code", "check this PR"
Do NOT use for: security audits (use go-security-audit)

  6. Run validation before committing:
    ./scripts/validate.sh

When creating new skills

  1. Choose the correct category directory or create a new one.
  2. Create skill-name/SKILL.md with proper frontmatter.
  3. Add the skill to the README.md catalog table.
  4. If creating a new category, add _category.json.
  5. Run ./scripts/validate.sh to verify format.

Code style for this repo

  • Markdown: ATX-style headers (#), fenced code blocks with language tags.
  • Shell scripts: set -euo pipefail, shellcheck-clean.
  • JSON: 2-space indentation.
  • No trailing whitespace. Final newline on all files.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
