datadog-aws-mcp: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

datadog-aws-mcp AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from edxmorales/datadog-aws-mcp. It costs 367 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A repository instruction file for a read-only Python MCP server that connects coding agents to services such as Datadog, AWS CloudWatch, GitHub, and Azure Repos. It documents commands, conventions, and safety rules for working in that repository.

In plain words
What is it for?
It is for guiding code changes, syntax checks, tests, and safe use of the repository's MCP tools.
Why use it?
It gives an agent the project context and prevents unsafe actions such as changing secrets, pushing without permission, or modifying the main branch. It also standardises where tools and tests belong.

This is edxmorales/datadog-aws-mcp's own configuration. It tells Codex and OpenCode how to work on datadog-aws-mcp itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything datadog-aws-mcp configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00367 $0.00367
Opus 5.5 $0.00147 $0.00147
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00073 $0.00073
Haiku 4.5 $0.00037 $0.00037

Measured 16d ago against content hash 8acd46f38732, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-10-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

datadog-aws-mcp AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 16d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

AGENTS.md

Comandos

  • Instalar: pip install -r requirements.txt
  • Pruebas: python test_arreglos.py y python test_opencode.py
  • Comprobar sintaxis: python -m py_compile server.py tools_*.py test_*.py

Convenciones

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
