In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when working in the EuroLeague Analytics repository to find the required project instructions before making changes.
Why use it?
It keeps one source of truth for the project's rules, so the instructions do not become outdated copies of each other.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00307 $0.00307
Opus 5 $0.00153 $0.00153
Sonnet 5 $0.00061 $0.00061
Haiku 4.5 $0.00031 $0.00031

Security

Grade A, and why

euroleague-analytics AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

EuroLeague Analytics — agent instructions

The instructions for this repository are in CLAUDE.md. Read that file in full before doing anything, including before asking clarifying questions.

It is the single source of truth for this project: scope, hard rules on event ordering and data handling, validation requirements, architecture, and the workflow rules. Nothing in this project should be built without it.

Why this file is a pointer and not a copy

This file deliberately contains no rules of its own. A second copy of the rules is a copy that will silently fall out of date, and this project has already been bitten once by a rule that stayed wrong after the evidence changed.

A symlink would be the natural way to do this, but this repository lives on Windows, where creating one requires Developer Mode or an elevated shell. A hard link was tested and rejected: the editors used here write via temp-file-and-rename, which severs the link and leaves a stale duplicate behind with no error. A pointer is the only form that cannot desync.

Do not paste the contents of CLAUDE.md into this file. If you want the two genuinely unified, enable Windows Developer Mode and replace this file with a real symlink:

rm AGENTS.md
MSYS=winsymlinks:nativestrict ln -s CLAUDE.md AGENTS.md
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
