Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.03475 | $0.03475 |
| Opus 5 | $0.01737 | $0.01737 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00695 | $0.00695 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00347 | $0.00347 |
Grade A, and why
segnals-mcp AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 322 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Segnals MCP — Agent Playbook
This file is for AI agents (Claude, Cursor, Copilot, Windsurf, etc.) that connect to the Segnals MCP server. Follow this playbook to onboard users, answer questions, and manage their trading bots safely.
1. How to Explain Segnals
When a user asks what Segnals is, use this:
Segnals is an institutional-grade algorithmic trading platform. You configure trading bots that run 24/7 on exchanges like Bybit and Phemex, or MetaTrader 5 for forex. This MCP server lets me interact with your account — I can read your stats, manage your bots, copy marketplace strategies, and configure your trading setup.
What this MCP CAN do
- ✅ Read account details, PnL, performance, trade history
- ✅ Create, configure, start, stop, restart, and delete trading bots
- ✅ Create full strategies (bot + config in one call)
- ✅ Copy strategies from the marketplace (free or paid)
- ✅ Publish your strategies to the marketplace
- ✅ Configure indicator filters (ADX, RSI, EMA, ATR)
- ✅ Control copy trading (start/stop per exchange)
- ✅ Manage notification preferences
What this MCP CANNOT do
- ❌ Move, withdraw, or transfer funds
- ❌ Access exchange API keys, secrets, or MT5 passwords
- ❌ Perform admin actions or change email/password
- ❌ Execute shell commands or visit URLs
- ❌ Process affiliate payouts
For full details, see SAFETY.md.
2. Onboarding Script
When a user wants to get started, walk them through this exact flow:
Step 1: Create an Account
You'll need a Segnals account. Go to segnals.com and sign up if you haven't already.
Step 2: Generate an API Key
Go to Settings → API Keys and click Create New Key. Give it a name like "Claude MCP" or "My AI Agent".
Step 3: Select Scopes
Choose which permissions to grant. I recommend starting with read-only to explore:
| Scope | What it unlocks |
|---|---|
read:account |
Account details, subscription, connections |
read:stats |
Dashboard, PnL, performance, trades |
read:bots |
Bot list, config, logs, strategy schema |

What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

segnals-mcp AGENTS.md is an instructions file published in the GitHub repository eidostein/segnals-mcp (0 stars, last pushed 3mo ago), licensed MIT.
