leaderboard-frontend: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

leaderboard-frontend CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from embeddings-benchmark/leaderboard-frontend. It costs 3,690 tokens per session, scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

Project instructions for a SvelteKit and TypeScript leaderboard website. It documents how the site is built, tested, deployed, and connected to the MTEB API, a service that provides embedding-benchmark data.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when developing, checking, testing, or deploying the leaderboard frontend.
Why use it?
It gives the coding agent the project’s required commands, environment settings, routes, and data-source rules so changes fit the existing application.

This is embeddings-benchmark/leaderboard-frontend's own configuration. It tells Claude Code how to work on leaderboard-frontend itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.03690 $0.03690
Opus 5 $0.01845 $0.01845
Sonnet 5 $0.00738 $0.00738
Haiku 4.5 $0.00369 $0.00369

Measured 7d ago against content hash 3def9e5e3ba0, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

leaderboard-frontend CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 165 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

CLAUDE.md

SvelteKit + TypeScript + Svelte 5 (runes mode) port of the MTEB Gradio leaderboard. Deployed as a static site to a Hugging Face Space (via Dockerfile + nginx) and GitHub Pages. Runtime data source is the mteb FastAPI service (embeddings-benchmark/mteb, branch api). PUBLIC_API_URL is required — no mock fallback.

Commands

Makefile wraps the npm scripts.

make dev # vite dev on http://localhost:5173
make build # vite build
make deploy-build # vite build with no base path (matches CI; custom domain serves from root)
make preview # serve build/ on http://localhost:4173
make check            # svelte-kit sync && svelte-check
make lint             # prettier --check . && eslint .
make format # prettier --write .
make test # build + Playwright e2e
make kill-ports # free 5173/5174/4173

Single test: npx playwright test tests/tab-switch.e2e.ts. Playwright reuseExistingServer: true so iterating against a running preview works.

Env vars

Read via $env/static/public (build-time inlined):

  • PUBLIC_API_URLrequired, base URL of FastAPI. Loaders throw if unset.
  • PUBLIC_SITE_URL — canonical origin for prerender.origin and OG / canonical URLs.
  • BASE_PATH — build-time path prefix. Empty for both the Space and GitHub Pages (Pages serves from the leaderboard.mteb.org custom domain at root, via static/CNAME).
  • BUILD_NO_PRERENDER=1 — skips prerender locally (read by +layout.ts + detail +page.ts). Inlined via Vite define in vite.config.ts.

Routes

/explorer prefix is gone — every route is at the site root.

Route Purpose
/ Three featured PrimaryLeaderTiles + MenuSections
/benchmarks Catalog + sidebar filters (Modality / Task type / Domain)
/benchmark/[name] Hero + tabs (Summary / Perf×Size / Perf×Time / Per task / Per language / Info)
/models + /models/[...name] Index + detail. Rest-param accepts org/name (validated by params/modelName.ts)
/tasks + /tasks/[name] Index + detail, sidebar mirrors /benchmarks
/compare Up to 4 models side-by-side with radar

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
