ai-native-engineering-workspace: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

ai-native-engineering-workspace AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from engindemirog/ai-native-engineering-workspace. It costs 644 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Project instructions for an engineering workspace that is not yet configured. They require a bootstrap step before application code can be written and define rules for specifications, approval, testing, and evidence.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them as the workspace's operating rules for bootstrapping the project and controlling work from specification through verification.
Why use it?
They stop agents from writing code in an unconfigured project and establish who must approve, build, review, and verify each change.

This is engindemirog/ai-native-engineering-workspace's own configuration. It tells Codex and OpenCode how to work on ai-native-engineering-workspace itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00644 $0.00644
Opus 5.5 $0.00258 $0.00258
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00129 $0.00129
Haiku 4.5 $0.00064 $0.00064

Security

Grade A, and why

ai-native-engineering-workspace AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

AGENTS.md — Project Rules

STATUS: NOT CONFIGURED. This workspace has not been adapted to a project yet. The only correct first action is the bootstrap workflow (workflows/bootstrap.md). Until bootstrap completes and rewrites this file, do not write application code.

Operating mode

Mode: unset — bootstrap sets lite or strict (workflows/README.md); every workflow honors its gates. Start work with /new-feature in lite (it chains the segments and asks at each gate) or with /analyze in strict (one segment per role). Segment commands always stop (workflows/segments.md). Language: unset — bootstrap sets chat=<xx> · docs=<xx>; protocol fields stay English (docs/conventions.md).

Invariant rules (these survive bootstrap — never delete or weaken them)

  1. No spec, no code. Every piece of work starts as a spec in specs/active/ (from specs/TEMPLATE.md).
  2. Plan before build. A human approves the plan before any code is written.
  3. The producer never verifies its own work. Review and QA run in a separate session or a read-only subagent, working from files (diff + spec), never from the builder's chat.
  4. Evidence over claims. "Done" requires scripts/check green and every acceptance criterion mapped to proof. Never claim completion without showing evidence.
  5. Tests are protected. Weakening asserts, deleting or skipping tests to get to green is forbidden — always.
  6. Proposal rule. Every question, option, or finding comes with your own recommendation and rationale. The human decides; nothing is applied without approval.
  7. Shipped specs are immutable. Files under specs/done/ are never edited.
  8. Uncertainty is surfaced, not assumed. On ambiguity or a docs/code conflict: stop and use the matching recovery ramp (prompts/recovery/).

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
