ree-mcp: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

ree-mcp CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from ESJavadex/ree-mcp. It costs 4,581 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A project instruction file for an MCP server that provides Spanish electricity data through the eSios API. It documents the project setup, commands, testing layers, and its use of domain-driven and clean-architecture practices.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when setting up the project with uv or pip, running unit, integration, and end-to-end tests, checking coverage, or working within its documented architecture.
Why use it?
It gives coding agents the project rules and commands needed to work consistently, including the rule that business-domain code should not use mocks.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.04581 $0.04581
Opus 5 $0.02291 $0.02291
Sonnet 5 $0.00916 $0.00916
Haiku 4.5 $0.00458 $0.00458

Measured 7d ago against content hash 48b281a78b44, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-06, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

ree-mcp CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Project Overview

REE MCP Server: A production-ready MCP (Model Context Protocol) server for accessing Red Eléctrica Española (REE) electricity data through the eSios API. Built with strict Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles, Clean Architecture, and comprehensive testing.

Key Constraint: This codebase follows a NO MOCKING policy in the domain layer. Domain logic must remain pure and testable without mocks.

Development Commands

Environment Setup

# Using uv (recommended)
uv venv
source .venv/bin/activate # On Windows: .venv\Scripts\activate
uv pip install -e ".[dev]"

# Using standard pip
python -m venv venv
source venv/bin/activate
pip install -e ".[dev]"

Testing

# Run all tests
pytest

# Run only unit tests (domain layer)
pytest tests/unit/

# Run integration tests (infrastructure with mocked HTTP)
pytest tests/integration/

# Run e2e tests
pytest tests/e2e/

# Run with coverage report
pytest --cov=src/ree_mcp --cov-report=html

# Run specific test file
pytest tests/unit/domain/test_value_objects.py

# Run specific test function
pytest tests/unit/domain/test_value_objects.py::test_indicator_id_validation

Type Checking

# Type check entire codebase (mypy strict mode enabled)
mypy src/ree_mcp/

# Type check specific module
mypy src/ree_mcp/domain/

Linting and Formatting

# Check code style
ruff check .

# Auto-fix issues
ruff check --fix .

# Format code (line length: 100)
ruff format .

Running the Server

# STDIO mode (default for MCP)
python -m ree_mcp

# HTTP mode for testing/debugging
python -c "from ree_mcp.interface.mcp_server import mcp; mcp.run(transport='http', port=8000)"

Architecture Overview

This project implements Clean Architecture with Domain-Driven Design (DDD) in four distinct layers:

1. Domain Layer (src/ree_mcp/domain/)

Pure business logic with ZERO external dependencies. No I/O, no frameworks, no mocking in tests.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
