game-design-lenses: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

game-design-lenses AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from EthanM2025/game-design-lenses. It costs 1,103 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

An instruction file for using a library of game-design review perspectives with a coding agent. A lens review means examining a game or design from several different angles.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to review game ideas, mechanics, or design documents through multiple structured perspectives.
Why use it?
It tells the agent how to recognize review requests, choose the matching language, and apply the library to a project or document.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01103 $0.01103
Opus 5 $0.00551 $0.00551
Sonnet 5 $0.00221 $0.00221
Haiku 4.5 $0.00110 $0.00110

Security

Grade A, and why

game-design-lenses AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

AGENTS.md template — Codex / OpenAI Codex / generic LLM tools

This file is for users of Codex / OpenAI Codex (or any LLM coding agent that reads AGENTS.md as part of its system context). For Claude Code, the skill at skills/lens-review/SKILL.md is auto-discovered via the plugin system — no AGENTS.md setup needed.

How to install (Codex / generic)

  1. git clone this repository to a known location (or add it as a submodule of your project).
  2. Append the integration block below to your project's AGENTS.md (or your equivalent agent instruction file), replacing <PATH_TO_THIS_REPO> with the actual local path.
  3. That's it. When you ask "do a lens review on X", "过 lens", "用透镜看看 X", the agent will follow the protocol.

## Game Design Lens Review (game-design-lenses)

Library: `<PATH_TO_THIS_REPO>/lib/100-lenses.zh.md` (Chinese) / `<PATH_TO_THIS_REPO>/lib/100-lenses.en.md` (English)

When the user asks for a "lens review" / "过 lens" / "用透镜看看 [path]" / "give me different angles on [path]":

1. Detect the language of the artifact (and the user's invocation). Pick the matching library file (`.zh` for Chinese, `.en` for English). If unclear, default to English.
2. Read the artifact at the path provided.
3. Read the library file. It contains 100 lenses; each has 5 static fields: `Category / How to use / Key questions / Elaboration / When to use`.
4. Pick 3-5 most relevant lenses based on artifact type + content keywords. Use each lens's `When to use` field to match. Cross-category preferred for richer perspective.
5. For each picked lens, output this structured block:

Lens #N: [English name] ([中文名 if responding in Chinese])

What this lens asks / 这盏 lens 在问的是: [one-sentence framing]

[Observation] / 【观察】 — What's in the doc [Factual evidence from the artifact, with file:line anchors. No judgment.]

[Insight] / 【洞察】 — What this lens surfaces (one reading, not a verdict) [Analyze through this lens. HEDGED tone required: "perhaps / possibly / one reading / looks like / if X happens, Y might follow". Reference relevant examples (Wii Sports, Hades, Slay the Spire, etc) when useful. If there's a counter-reading, surface it: "It could also be read the other way: ..."]

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
