claude-copilot: Instructions file for Claude Code

AGENTS.md

claude-copilot AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode from Everyone-Needs-A-Copilot/claude-copilot. It costs 1,396 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Project instructions for a Claude Copilot codebase, including its tools, memory storage, skills, configuration, and credential guidance. AGENTS.md is a file that tells coding agents how to work in a project.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to guide work involving the project's Copilot tools, persistent memory, skills, configuration, and Apple notarization credentials.
Why use it?
It gives an agent the project's local rules and locations instead of making it infer them from the repository.

Instructions file for Claude CodeCodexOpenCode

Written for Claude Code and Codex and OpenCode: SessionStart hook event, but also the file is AGENTS.md. Also seen: reads .claude/ paths; mentions subagents; mentions Codex.

This is Everyone-Needs-A-Copilot/claude-copilot's own configuration. It tells Claude Code, Codex and OpenCode how to work on claude-copilot itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything claude-copilot configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01396 $0.01396
Opus 5 $0.00698 $0.00698
Sonnet 5 $0.00279 $0.00279
Haiku 4.5 $0.00140 $0.00140

Security

Grade A, and why

claude-copilot AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Agent Instructions

Project Overview

  • Project: claude-copilot
  • Description: Project using Copilot Control Tower
  • Stack: Unknown

Codex Copilot

This project uses the shared codex-copilot framework through the project-local plugin link:

  • ./plugins/codex-copilot

Use these native specialist skills when appropriate:

  • $protocol
  • $launcher
  • $sd
  • $uxd
  • $uids
  • $uid
  • $ta
  • $me
  • $qa
  • $ind
  • $sec
  • $doc
  • $do

Memory And Skills Copilot

Use the new cc CLI for persistent memory, skill discovery, and Copilot config. It replaces the old Skills Copilot and Memory Copilot MCP servers.

  • Preferred command: $HOME/.local/bin/cc
  • Fallback if needed: cc, after confirming it resolves to the Claude Copilot CLI and not the system C compiler
  • Source: Claude Copilot tools/cc/
  • Project config: .claude/cc/config.json
  • Project memory: .claude/memory/entries/
  • Project skills bridge: .claude/skills/codex-copilot -> plugins/codex-copilot/skills

When a task needs Copilot config values, run:

eval "$($HOME/.local/bin/cc env)"

Use cc memory ... for durable project/global memory and cc skill ... to list, search, inspect, and retrieve reusable skills.

Apple Notarization Credential Doctrine

  • The publisher Mac's ct-notary profile is a standing credential. The release environment stores its profile name, not the Apple password.
  • Without an explicit --keychain, Apple notarytool stores the profile in the macOS Data Protection Keychain. Do not use security find-generic-password against login.keychain-db as an existence test.
  • Probe with xcrun notarytool history --keychain-profile ct-notary --output-format json. Retry transient No Keychain password item found failures. If a later probe succeeds, continue the release and do not ask the owner to recreate the credential.
  • Release scripts must preflight before expensive builds and retry only local Keychain-lookup failures at notarization boundaries. Never bypass signing, notarization, source verification, or artifact verification.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
