Repository instructions for Lodgify MCP Server, a Python server that connects AI assistants to Lodgify’s vacation-rental API. They describe the project structure, setup, configuration, tests, and code-quality checks.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when developing, testing, or running the Lodgify MCP Server, or when contributing changes to its Python code and examples.
Why use it?
They give an agent the commands and conventions needed to change the server safely, including its API-key requirement and checks with pytest, Ruff, and mypy.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00298 $0.00298
Opus 5 $0.00149 $0.00149
Sonnet 5 $0.00060 $0.00060
Haiku 4.5 $0.00030 $0.00030

Measured 5d ago against content hash 25327ed21003, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-06, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

lodgify-mcp-server AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

LLM Contributor Guide

This repository contains a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for the Lodgify vacation rental API. Use this document as a quick reference when proposing changes via an LLM.

Repository overview

  • Python 3.10+ project (pyproject.toml defines dependencies and dev tools)
  • Entry point: entrypoint.py
  • Main server module: lodgify_server.py
  • Configuration examples live in the examples/ directory
  • Tests live under tests/

Development setup

  1. Install dev dependencies
uv pip install --system -e '.[dev]'

  2. Run the unit tests
    pytest

  3. Follow the existing code style. The project uses ruff (line length 88) and mypy with disallow_untyped_defs = true.
  4. Ensure LODGIFY_API_KEY is set when running the server.

Useful commands

  • Start the server with uvx:
    export LODGIFY_API_KEY=your_key
    uvx lodgify-mcp-server

  • Run from source:
    uv run python entrypoint.py

Contribution tips

  • Keep documentation concise and avoid duplication.
  • Update or add tests when changing code.
  • See CONTRIBUTING.md for more details.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
