engineering-docs: Instructions file for Gemini CLI

GEMINI.md

engineering-docs GEMINI.md is an instructions file for Gemini CLI from fattain-naime/engineering-docs. It costs 395 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A configuration file for Gemini CLI, a command-line tool for working with an AI coding agent. It loads engineering-documentation skills covering planning, product behavior, architecture, APIs, databases, security, testing, and related work.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when asking Gemini to create or update engineering documents such as plans, specifications, architecture records, API designs, database designs, and threat models.
Why use it?
It gives the agent the project's documentation guidance automatically instead of requiring each skill to be loaded by hand. This helps keep documentation work consistent across the software lifecycle.

Written for Gemini CLI: the file is GEMINI.md. Also seen: mentions AGENTS.md.

This is fattain-naime/engineering-docs's own configuration. It tells Gemini CLI how to work on engineering-docs itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything engineering-docs configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00395 $0.00395
Opus 5.5 $0.00158 $0.00158
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00079 $0.00079
Haiku 4.5 $0.00040 $0.00040

Measured 11d ago against content hash 36803f6ff894, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-10-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

engineering-docs GEMINI.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Engineering Docs - Gemini Context File

This file is the Gemini (Antigravity) context loader for the engineering-docs plugin.

It eagerly loads all 22 skill SKILL.md files into Gemini's context window so the

agent knows each skill's intent, triggers, and workflow without needing to fetch them

at runtime. This file is standalone - it does not depend on AGENTS.md or any other

agent config file.

Skill routing rules and behavioral standards are embedded in each SKILL.md loaded below.

For Gemini-specific trigger routing, see integrations/agents/AGENTS.md.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
