AGENTS.md

ai-ops-mcp AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from Finn-Aigc/ai-ops-mcp. It costs 594 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A set of repository instructions for ai-ops-mcp, a Node.js and TypeScript project with an SSH command-line tool and MCP server. It describes the code layout, commands, style rules, and testing guidance.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when developing, building, type-checking, testing, or running end-to-end SSH and MCP scenarios in that repository.
Why use it?
It gives an AI coding agent the project-specific rules needed to make and check changes consistently.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00594 $0.00594
Opus 5 $0.00297 $0.00297
Sonnet 5 $0.00119 $0.00119
Haiku 4.5 $0.00059 $0.00059

Security

Grade A, and why

ai-ops-mcp AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Repository Guidelines

Project Structure & Module Organization

This Node.js 22+ TypeScript project provides an SSH CLI and MCP server. Production code lives in src/: CLI commands are in src/cli, MCP integration in src/mcp, and SSH transport in src/ssh; configuration, credentials, auditing, and services have dedicated directories. src/index.ts is the CLI entry point and src/mcp-entry.ts starts MCP. Unit tests live in test/unit, live SSH scripts in test/e2e, and design notes in docs/. Do not edit generated dist/ or node_modules/ content.

Build, Test, and Development Commands

  • npm install installs locked dependencies from package-lock.json.
  • npm run dev runs the CLI directly through tsx.
  • npm run typecheck checks strict TypeScript types without emitting files.
  • npm run build cleans dist/ and compiles the project.
  • npm test runs all test/**/*.test.ts files with Node's test runner.
  • npm start runs the compiled CLI from dist/index.js.
  • npm run test:e2e:core (and :mcp, :auth, :agent, :cleanup) runs live SSH integration scenarios.

Before live tests, build the project and set an isolated AI_OPS_HOME plus AI_OPS_E2E_SERVER_ID; never point tests at a production configuration.

Coding Style & Naming Conventions

Use ESM TypeScript with explicit .js suffixes in relative imports, two-space indentation, double quotes, and semicolons. The compiler enables strict, noUncheckedIndexedAccess, and exactOptionalPropertyTypes; do not weaken these settings. Name files in kebab-case (path-boundary.ts), classes and types in PascalCase, and functions and variables in camelCase. No formatter or linter is configured, so match adjacent code and run npm run typecheck.

Testing Guidelines

Use node:test with node:assert/strict. Name unit files <feature>.test.ts and place them in test/unit. Cover success paths, validation failures, secret handling, path boundaries, and cleanup behavior. There is no configured coverage threshold; every behavioral change should include a focused regression test. Live E2E scripts must use unique temporary resources and remove them in finally blocks.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
