hwpx-mcp: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

hwpx-mcp CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from flamingo8006/hwpx-mcp. It costs 3,634 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Development instructions for a VS Code extension that edits Hangul Word Processor documents, including modern editable HWPX files and legacy read-only HWP files. They also cover its embedded MCP server.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when building, testing, packaging, or changing the VS Code extension or its MCP server. They include commands for compilation, watching changes, creating a VSIX package, and running tests.
Why use it?
They collect the project's build, test, architecture, and debugging information in one place. This helps an agent work on the extension without guessing how its two parts fit together.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.03634 $0.03634
Opus 5 $0.01817 $0.01817
Sonnet 5 $0.00727 $0.00727
Haiku 4.5 $0.00363 $0.00363

Security

Grade A, and why

hwpx-mcp CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Project Overview

HWP/HWPX Editor - A VSCode extension for editing Hangul Word Processor documents. Supports both modern HWPX (XML-based, editable) and legacy HWP (binary, read-only) formats.

Build Commands

VSCode Extension (root directory):

npm run compile # Build extension with esbuild (extension + embedded MCP server)
npm run watch # Watch mode for development
npm run package # Package as VSIX (requires vsce)

Standalone MCP Server (mcp-server directory):

cd mcp-server
npm run build # Compile TypeScript
npm start # Run the server

Testing (MCP Server only):

cd mcp-server
npm test # Run all tests (vitest)
npm run test:watch # Watch mode for tests
npx vitest run <file> # Run specific test file (e.g., npx vitest run src/HwpxDocument.test.ts)
npx vitest run -t "test name" # Run test by name pattern

Test file naming conventions:

  • *.test.ts — Unit tests (e.g., HwpxDocument.test.ts)
  • *.e2e.test.ts — End-to-end tests (e.g., ComplexWorkflow.e2e.test.ts)
  • *.bug.test.ts — Regression tests for specific bugs (e.g., TextDuplication.bug.test.ts)
  • *.stress.test.ts / *.extreme.test.ts — Stress/red-team tests

Utilities:

node scripts/create-sample-hwpx.js # Generate sample HWPX test fixtures

Development: Press F5 in VSCode to launch the extension in debug mode (uses .vscode/launch.json).

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
