wind parsers.instructions.md

Project-specific rules for writing Flutter style parsers, which translate utility-style class names into interface styling. They define how parsers are selected, how styles are returned, and how color and theme values are interpreted.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when adding or changing parsers under lib/src/parser/, including parser matching, style updates, registration order, and color opacity handling.
Why use it?
They help new parsers fit the existing routing and style system without mutating shared data or changing precedence unexpectedly.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00818 $0.00818
Opus 5 $0.00409 $0.00409
Sonnet 5 $0.00164 $0.00164
Haiku 4.5 $0.00082 $0.00082

Security

Grade A, and why

wind parsers.instructions.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Parser conventions (lib/src/parser/)

Interface (every parser implements two methods)

class FooParser implements WindParserInterface {
  const FooParser();

  @override
  bool canParse(String className) =>
      className.startsWith('foo-') || className.startsWith('foo[');

  @override
  WindStyle parse(WindStyle styles, List<String>? classes, WindContext context) {
    if (classes == null) return styles;
    // ... iterate classes; return styles.copyWith(...)
    return styles;
  }
}
  • canParse(String className) is O(1). Use startsWith() or a pre-compiled static final RegExp. No heavy logic.
  • parse returns styles.copyWith(...) for every mutation. Never returns null. Never mutates the input list.
  • The orchestrator's first-match-wins routing means canParse order matters: more specific prefixes register before more general ones. Registration is in lib/src/parser/wind_parser.dart's _parserMap (a const map of const parser instances).
  • copyWith does not fabricate an empty BoxDecoration. Pass decoration: only when setting a real visual box property (color, border, radius, shadow, gradient, image), so the downstream decoration != null Container gate stays honest.

Last-class-wins semantics

Two safe patterns to implement "later token wins":

  1. Reverse iteration with first-match-wins on each property: walk the class list backwards, set the property on the first match, break.
  2. Forward iteration with explicit reset: like border_parser.dart — walk forward, on every match overwrite the property (and reset siblings to null where needed). Requires deliberate handling of partial directional properties.

Pick the pattern that fits the property family. Document the choice in a one-line comment at the iteration site when it might surprise a reader.

Arbitrary values precede theme lookups

For every property, parse the bracket-arbitrary form (p-[10px], bg-[#ff5733], text-[1.5rem]) BEFORE the theme-scale lookup. Arbitrary values are pixel-exact; theme keys are nominal:

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

wind parsers.instructions.md is an instructions file published in the GitHub repository fluttersdk/wind (33 stars, last pushed 2d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 818 tokens to every session, about $0.0041 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
