meta-skills: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

meta-skills AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from forsvn-labs/meta-skills. It costs 336 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

An AGENTS.md instruction file containing rules for working in a repository of portable coding-agent skills and plugin metadata. AGENTS.md is a project file that tells coding assistants how to work in that repository.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to guide repository work, preserve skill contracts, maintain project records and versions, and keep consequential actions behind approval gates.
Why use it?
Shared project rules reduce inconsistent edits, such as losing progress records, inventing unsupported claims, or ignoring approval requirements. The file also points agents to the project's context and progress records.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00336 $0.00336
Opus 5.5 $0.00134 $0.00134
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00067 $0.00067
Haiku 4.5 $0.00034 $0.00034

Security

Grade A, and why

meta-skills AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Project context

Before project work, read the PROGRESS snapshot and STRUCTURE's "Read before changing" section. Read the other records when the task needs them. Use the horsemen skill to update them.

  • VISION.md: draft direction, assumptions, and owner questions
  • BRAIN.md: knowledge locations, save rules, and access limits
  • PROGRESS.md: current state, gates, and next steps
  • STRUCTURE.md: package map and required reading

Package rules

  • This repository holds portable skills and plugin metadata. Hosts supply tools, permissions, identity, memory, and continuity. No runtime is required.
  • Preserve each skill's contract. The default skill uses the smallest relevant capability set. Standalone outcome skills remain usable on their own.
  • Use the customer's brand. Never invent capabilities, proof, metrics, or consent.
  • Keep consequential actions and persistence behind the approval gates in PROGRESS.md. If the host cannot enforce approval, return a draft.
  • A skill's frontmatter version is authoritative. Keep VERSIONS.md in sync without forcing skill versions to equal the package version.
  • Keep private data, identifiers, account emails, and machine paths out of this public repository. Follow BRAIN.md.
  • Existing installation instructions are not proof of a tested install. Record the evidence and its original date when you report delivery.

Inherited higher-priority instructions continue to apply.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
